Rod Wave concert postponed after disturbance near Golden 1 Center in Sacramento

As an experienced movie-goer who has witnessed my fair share of unexpected turns and chaos at concert venues, I must say the incident at Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center left me feeling quite uneasy. The panic that ensued following the firecracker explosion sounds all too familiar – a stark reminder of the unpredictable nature of live events.

On Friday night, the concert featuring rapper Rod Wave at Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center was rescheduled due to a panic caused by loud noises resembling gunfire, which were later determined by police to have been fireworks instead.

According to Officer Anthony Gamble, the Sacramento Police Department received reports suggesting gunshots might have been fired from the city center around 9 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered fragments of firecrackers instead of any proof of a shooting incident.

At 9:36 PM, it was shared by the Golden 1 Center that the event had to be rescheduled to Saturday, with the message emphasizing that “our primary concern is always the safety of our attendees and fans.” The center did not disclose the reason for the postponement.

At 9:26 PM, a video posted by a Fox 40 reporter displayed a distressed group gathering outside the stadium. Numerous individuals were observed hastily attempting to get inside the venue, some individuals were found prone on the ground, and several barricades had been tumbled.

On Monday, Rodarius Marcell Green, better known by his stage name Rod Wave, will take the stage at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood.
