As a lifelong fan, I can’t help but feel a surge of nostalgia and excitement at the news that Rod Stewart is rekindling the magic with his Faces bandmates. Having grown up listening to their iconic hits and tales of debauchery, it feels like a piece of my youth is coming back to life.

Rod Stewart has revealed he is working on a new documentary with the members of the Faces.

79-year-old vocalist is back together with band members Ronnie Wood (77) and Kenney Jones (76) in their latest project – a movie, and they’re simultaneously striving towards creating a new music album as well.

On the Soccer A-Z podcast, Rod mentioned that he is scheduled to meet the final two members of the Faces group the following day, and they are collaborating on a documentary due to their upcoming 50th anniversary in the ’60s.

‘I can’t identify exactly what it is, but when their faces are gathered, we’re working on an album. Therefore, I’ll join forces with Mr. Woods and Mr. Jones.’

The musician is also diligently planning his own standalone performances, as he has several concerts scheduled for the upcoming year.

As a die-hard fan, I can hardly contain my excitement! Over the next few weeks, I’ve got an incredible lineup of three gigs leading up to Christmas. And let me tell you, 2023 is shaping up to be absolutely packed with shows across the US and Europe – it’s going to be one busy year for us music enthusiasts!

As an over-the-moon enthusiast, I can’t help but gush: “I adore this gig, it’s simply incredible! I’ve snagged the dream job, you know? Post-performance, I unwind with a well-deserved drink and they even pay me for it. Can you believe it? Talk about heaven on earth!

In 1969, the band known as The Faces emerged, and they disbanded and released their last album titled “Ooh La La” in 1973. They were honored by being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as early as 2012.

A band consisting of five members was established back in 1969, and among its ranks were bassist Ronnie Lane and keyboardist Ian McLagan. Tragically, Ronnie Lane passed away in 1997 after struggling with multiple sclerosis, while Ian McLagan unfortunately succumbed to a stroke last December.

As an ardent fan, I’m utterly captivated by the legendary rock duo who made waves with timeless tunes like “Stay With Me” in ’71 and “Ooh La La” in ’73! Beyond their music, they were notorious for their wild escapades off-stage, with tales of booze, groupies, and trashed hotel rooms adding to the allure.

1975 marked the year when Ronnie bid farewell to our cherished band, opting instead for a permanent spot with the Rolling Stones. As the clock struck midnight on New Year’s Eve, it was clear that Rod, my beloved leader, had made the difficult decision to disband the group officially.

In 2015, the band got together again, and Rod remarked then: “Performing on stage alongside my fellow musicians while we play Stay with Me and other classics is going to be an exhilarating experience that will undoubtedly make this evening extraordinary.

Experiencing The Faces was an exhilarating, brilliant era for everyone involved. Though we no longer have Ronnie and Mac among us, this moment serves as an opportunity for us to reminisce about them and express that they truly made our time special – ‘A Real Good Time’ indeed.

Kenney remarked, “Those years with The Faces were among the finest of my existence, and I feel nothing but pride for being a member of that band.

In 2012, the founding members had planned to come together for their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but unfortunately, Rod had to cancel his appearance due to falling ill with the flu.
