Rod Stewart and his wife, Penny Lancaster, looked very affectionate with each other at the premiere of “Finding Harmony: A King’s Vision.”
Rod Stewart, 81, and his wife, Penny Lancaster, 54, were among the celebrities at the film premiere held at Windsor Castle on Wednesday.
Rod made an entrance on the red carpet wearing a white lace shirt, pinstripe trousers, and a stylish tailcoat blazer.
He combined an unusual tuxedo with a cross necklace and shiny shoes, and put his arm around Penny.
Penny looked stunning at the premiere, wearing a flowing pink and brown floral dress with layers of ruffles.
She completed her look with a black velvet shawl that had fringe, red patent leather heels, and a small black leather handbag.
I was so moved watching Penny on TV last December! She got really emotional sharing her and Rod’s beautiful love story – it was part of a special BBC Christmas show, and honestly, it brought tears to my eyes too.
The couple met back in 1999 when Penny was a student at Barking College, and Rod was performing.
The couple had their first son, Alistair, in 2005, and then got married in 2007. They later welcomed another son, Aiden, in 2011.
During the first episode of Anita Rani’s ‘My Life At Christmas,’ Penny became very emotional while recounting her love story, frequently bursting into tears. Even Rod was moved to tears himself.
Penny shared the story of how she and Rod first connected, explaining that he didn’t actually contact her until nine months after they’d swapped phone numbers.
Rod and Penny first connected shortly after Rod’s divorce from his second wife, Rachel Hunter. They were married from 1990 to 2006.
Knowing his friend wasn’t quite ready to meet her, Rod’s bandmate Carmine Appice didn’t give him Penny’s phone number until he felt more prepared.
As Rod remembered, this man was a true gentleman. He led the band, played bass, and playfully kept his phone number a secret from me.
He felt I wasn’t stable enough to handle it, explaining that I was still going through a difficult divorce and seemed lost. He promised he’d share it with me once he believed I was in a better place.
He joked: ‘I should of fired him but I couldn’t!’
It really hit me hard when Penny started to cry. She explained that Carmine had deliberately hidden that phone number from him, and it was just awful to hear.
He predicted I’d have a wild summer and relax, and mentioned that Penny seemed like a good person.
She hadn’t heard from her future husband, so she explained that she’d assumed she wouldn’t see him again. She recalled developing the photos she’d taken of him at his concert, thinking it would be a nice memory to hold onto, and that was the end of it.
Once Rod felt ready, he contacted her, and they started dating. Penny was soon welcomed into his family, which already included children from a previous relationship.
Before my sons came along with Penny, I was already a dad – a big family dad, actually! I had six wonderful children from previous relationships. So, adding two more was a joy, and definitely kept things lively!
The actor gave his first child, Sarah, up for adoption. He had Sarah with his former girlfriend, Susannah Boffey, when he was 17, and they later became a couple.
He has three children from past relationships: Kimberly, 46, and Sean, 45, with his former wife Alana Stewart, and Ruby, 38, with ex-girlfriend Kelly Emberg.
During his marriage to Rachel Hunter, musician Rod Stewart welcomed two more children: Renee, now 33, and Liam, age 31.
