Rocksteady Is Reportedly Working On a Single-Player Batman Game
According to recent reports, it seems that Rocksteady Studios has resumed work on the Batman series, with indications pointing towards a standalone player experience being developed.
The latest creation by the game developer was titled “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League“, which unfortunately didn’t fare too well and ended up costing Warner Bros. some revenue. As reported by Bloomberg, Rocksteady Studios are planning to revisit Batman for a single-player game, however, it appears that this new project is still several years from release.
In other parts of the report, it’s mentioned that the “Wonder Woman” video game has faced numerous challenges, including switching directors and potentially undergoing a restart. However, this isn’t expected to happen for quite some time yet.
For some, this news about Rocksteady will be a welcome respite following their mixed reactions to Suicide Squad. However, can’t help but feel a tinge of melancholy when a studio ventures into uncharted territory, encounters failure, and is compelled to return to familiar grounds instead.
In our assessment of the game, we noted that the final installment in the Batman series, Batman: Arkham Knight, was generally well-liked by many, yet it also concluded the storyline satisfactorily. According to our review, Rich commented:
Batman: Arkham Knight represents the powerful, innovative finale to Rocksteady’s Arkham trilogy. This game showcases Batman as both the world’s greatest detective and superhero. Despite the frequent appearance of the Batmobile, it doesn’t diminish the overall experience. It’s truly mind-blowing, as impactful as a well-thrown batarang. I’d love to step into the role of Batman!
There will be more opportunites to be the Batman coming up, it seems.
