The rock band Yes has had to delay its upcoming UK tour so guitarist Steve Howe, 78, can recover from necessary surgery.
The band was scheduled to begin an 11-city tour of Europe this month, with the first concert in Glasgow on April 22nd.
YES has announced that their ‘Fragile’ tour of the UK and EU, scheduled to begin on April 22nd, will be postponed. Guitarist Steve Howe needs to have essential surgery and will need time to recover.
We made this decision so Steve can fully recover and give his fans the performances they’re looking forward to.
Okay, so I’m totally glued to updates, and I just heard they’re working like crazy to get those UK and EU shows moved to new dates! They said everything will be announced after Easter, which feels like forever away, but it’s worth the wait, right? And the best part? They said to hold onto our tickets – they’ll be good for the new shows! I’m already planning what I’m going to wear… again! I just need to know when!
‘Tour dates currently being arranged for later in 2026 will proceed as planned.
Steve Howe and the band YES want to express their gratitude to their fans in the UK and hope for their ongoing support.
Yes began in London in 1968 with Jon Anderson and Chris Squire, who had previously been the band’s singer and bassist respectively. They were joined by guitarist Peter Banks, keyboardist Tony Kaye, and drummer Bill Bruford to form the original lineup.
I’ve been a fan of this incredible progressive rock band for years, and what always amazed me was how they constantly evolved. They had so many different lineups – some with absolute legends like White and Rick Wakeman – and they weren’t afraid to experiment with all sorts of musical ideas. It’s that willingness to change and explore that really kept things interesting for me!
Their hits include Owner Of A Lonely Heart, Roundabout and Long Distance Runaround.
I was absolutely thrilled when Yes finally got inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2017! It was amazing to see them recognized alongside such incredible artists like Joan Baez, Electric Light Orchestra, and Journey. As a longtime fan, it felt like a dream come true.
Steve is the last original member of the band. He now plays with vocalist Jon Davison, drummer Jay Schellan, keyboardist Geoff Downes, and bassist Billy Sherwood.
