Robert Pattinson’s Blunt Response About Returning for The Batman 2 Will Shock You!
I find it hard to believe that over three years have passed since “The Batman” graced our screens, receiving rave reviews from both critics and fans alike. A sequel was promptly given the green light, but with James Gunn leading the charge for the new DC Universe and directing the upcoming “Superman” movie, whispers of its potential cancellation began to circulate. However, Gunn has since quashed those rumors. More recently, Naomi Ackie, Robert Pattinson‘s co-star in “Micky 17”, posed the question about his return for “The Batman: Part II”. His response was unexpectedly straightforward.
Information regarding “The Batman: Part II” remains scant, and with its continuous release date adjustments and uncertainties, it sometimes seems that the upcoming DC film is at risk. In a recent chat for “Hero Magazine”, Ackie inquired about whether Pattinson intends to don the Batsuit once more, which led him to respond as follows:
I truly hope that’s the case. [chuckles] I began as a young Batman, and I’ll be an older Batman in the sequel. [both laugh]
As a passionate film critic, I found myself captivated by the performance of the lead actress in “The Blink Twice.” In one particularly intriguing scene, she attempted to bring the star back down to earth, subtly reminding him that despite his age, he’s not invincible or timeless. Her response was a quiet yet powerful reminder of the fleeting nature of stardom and youth.
You’re literally what, 35?
It can be seen that the actor is exhibiting a touch of playfulness, yet it’s worth mentioning that Robert Pattinson has recently celebrated his 39th birthday.
Currently, it’s anticipated that “The Batman: Part II” will be released on October 1, 2027. This would make Robert Pattinson 41 years old at the time, which is exactly two years younger than Ben Affleck was when “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” hit the screens. Given how “Batman v Superman” was marketed as featuring an older, more battle-worn Batman portrayed by Affleck, it’s understandable that Pattinson’s remarks about age seem fitting in a similar context.
It’s likely that many people would concur: the former Twilight actor still appears quite youthful for someone approaching 40. With some cinematic trickery, he could undoubtedly continue portraying a younger version of Batman for several more years. He is certainly far from being an elderly Batman!

With the return to its original name, HBO Max will provide a wide range of entertainment options, including timeless TV series such as Friends and Game of Thrones, along with exciting superhero stories like The Batman. Starting at just $9.99 per month, secure your deal now!
As a devoted cinema enthusiast, I firmly believe that Robert Pattinson’s portrayal of Batman in the recent live-action is among the finest. His interpretation rivals Michael Keaton’s iconic role, and I wholeheartedly support his continued tenure as The Dark Knight. Here’s hoping Warner Bros. and those in charge can swiftly organize the production of The Batman: Part II, allowing us to witness this talented actor once more wearing the cape on the big screen. It would be a tremendous pity to miss such an opportunity for the Harry Potter alum to reprise his role.
As a cinephile eagerly anticipating the next chapter in the Caped Crusader’s saga, I must share that The Batman: Part II is tentatively set to hit the silver screen on October 1, 2027. However, given its absence from the 2025 movie lineup, we find ourselves in a bit of suspense regarding its production timeline. In the interim, I strongly recommend revisiting the first film, where we witnessed the youthful Dark Knight in action, as well as his recent flick, Mickey 17, by subscribing to HBO Max.
