Robert Pattinson has opened up about life as a new dad – making a rare comment about fatherhood.
Robert Pattinson, 38, became a father to his first child with his fiancée, model Suki Waterhouse, in March of last year. He’s now shared that becoming a parent has been more surprising than he ever expected.
Speaking to ICON magazine, he revealed he has found joy in parenthood.
You know, I’ve noticed a huge shift in myself lately – I have so much more patience! And it’s actually quite funny… it’s not even *about* being patient, I genuinely enjoy spending time with babies. Honestly, that really surprised me. I never expected to feel this way, but it’s been such a lovely discovery! It’s a game changer.
The actor has generally shielded his daughter from the public, but his honest comments provided a peek into his life after stepping back from acting. It showed us a side of him rarely seen.
The British actor, known for his role in Twilight, has also become very interested in the fashion industry and its fast-moving nature.
He also mentioned, ‘I truly believe designers work incredibly hard.’ He described their work schedule as the most demanding he’d ever encountered.
‘You’ve got to be, like, Superman to be able to function at that level.’
Robert, a frequent collaborator with Dior, showcased his captivating personality in a photoshoot for the newest edition of Icon magazine.
The cameras focused tightly on the actor, showcasing his striking looks in a series of unusual photos taken by Ryan McGinley. He really put his well-defined features on display.
In some of the pictures, Robert was shown with no shoes, rolling around in a grassy field. He was wearing a black, buttoned shirt and pants at the time.
A closer look in another picture showed his pale skin and the very faint beginnings of a beard.
The creative photoshoot showed Robert wearing jeans and a denim jacket that matched. His brown hair appeared naturally messy and free-flowing.
He presented two images: one highlighting his striking good looks with a direct gaze into the camera, and the other showing him in a peculiar pose, casually lying within the hollow of a tree trunk.
In a quick change, he put on a brown shirt with his jeans and then lay face down in some straw, extending his legs behind him. After that, he wore a long brown coat for a different photo, posing amongst tall reeds.
In his last picture, he was wearing a denim shirt over a grey T-shirt. She was standing under a pink flower bush, and the flowers looked like a crown on her head.
Oh my gosh, I was *so* excited when Suki announced she and Robert were expecting! It was back in November 2023, and it happened during her performance at the Corona Capital Festival – seriously, the sweetest pregnancy reveal ever! I nearly lost it!
The Daisy Jones & the Six actress wore a shimmering pink minidress covered in glitter and feathers, and told the audience: ‘I’m especially sparkly today because I hoped it would take your mind off something else.’
Oh my gosh, you guys, it was *the* moment! She just casually opened her coat, and there it was – her baby bump! The crowd went absolutely wild! She’s so funny, too – she said, ‘I’m not sure if it’s working,’ as a joke right before she started to sing. I seriously almost fainted! It was perfect.
A few months ago, the couple revealed the first picture of their baby daughter. British Vogue featured both Suki and her daughter on its cover.
Earlier this year, Robert revealed that he had developed a strong fascination with his child’s scent, to the point where he could recognize her simply by smelling her. He mentioned becoming obsessed with it.
He shared with Vogue: ‘I recall people asking, ‘Don’t you enjoy the scent of babies?’, but it occurred to me they were actually smelling the baby powder.’
‘But then I had a baby, and I was like, “My baby smells incredible.”‘
He added: ‘There’s something there, I can identify her. She doesn’t smell like other babies.’
