Bruce Wayne, or rather Robert Pattinson, is proving to be a quick study when it comes to business. Despite a busy schedule, he recently shared exciting news that DC Comics fans will definitely appreciate.
Calling Robert Pattinson’s schedule ‘busy’ is a massive understatement. The acclaimed 39-year-old actor is quickly following up films like Mickey 17 and Die My Love with roles in The Drama, Here Comes the Flood, Dune: Part Three, and Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey – all expected in 2026. While he’s one of Hollywood’s most in-demand actors, even these projects pale in comparison to the scale of The Batman Part II.
And, as Pattinson so wonderfully noted to GQ, it’s nearly go time for Gotham’s Dark Knight.
I was really struck by how busy he is! He just finished a film called Prime Time and immediately jumped into another project. He explained that as soon as he wraps that one up, he’s starting work on The Batman: Part II – it’s a non-stop schedule, and it really shows how dedicated he is.
Robert Pattinson: The Batman Part II Isn’t Far Away
Fans are eager to find out when filming will begin, but the current plan is for James Gunn and Matt Reeves to release The Batman: Part II on October 1, 2027. This sequel is one of the few DC projects that won’t be part of Gunn’s main DC Universe; instead, it will exist as a separate story within the Elseworlds branch of DC Studios, which Gunn still oversees.
Colin Farrell will return as The Penguin, the award-winning character he played in The Batman. The film will also feature the Clown Prince of Crime, who originally appeared in a deleted scene from the first movie. This comes after rumors of Marvel roles for some of the cast.
Reeves is committed to bringing his vision for Batman to life, and that includes wanting Robert Pattinson to be physically fit for the role. Pattinson had previously lost weight for other projects, resulting in a 27-inch waist, which led some to question if he was in good enough shape to play Batman.
While people aren’t necessarily questioning if it will happen, a quick decision about The Batman: Part II is ideal. A lot depends on its success, especially with the recent merger between Netflix and Warner Bros., which even James Gunn acknowledges creates uncertainty. To ensure DC Studios thrives – alongside the new Superman and Supergirl – Robert Pattinson’s Batman needs to be a major hit.
