Robert Irwin has shocked fans by debuting his bold new look – featuring a very bushy moustache.
The 22-year-old reality TV star, currently filming the new season of ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here’ in South Africa, shared a look at his updated style on social media this Sunday.
Robert shared that he grew a beard while filming paused for a week, then shaved it off, keeping only his moustache.
Robert announced in a funny video that he planned to play a small prank on the crew, captioning it: ‘New Year. New Look.’
Robert, who is usually known for his neat appearance, surprised everyone by showing off his impressive moustache to the ‘I’m a Celebrity’ crew, including Julia Morris and his mom, Terri Irwin.
When Julia didn’t seem to like Robert’s new appearance, Terri quickly spoke up to support him.
‘As your mother, I’m incredibly proud,’ she said.
Robert asked his mother if he should keep his moustache, but she seemed undecided, saying yes while simultaneously shaking her head no.
He later told fans that he ‘had to’ shave off the moustache ahead of filming his reality show.
In the video, Robert playfully showcased his new mustache by adding pictures of celebrities also famous for their mustaches.
The clip featured actors like Tom Selleck, as he appeared in Magnum, P.I., and Nick Offerman, known for his role in Parks and Recreation.
Robert also fondly remembered the movie Top Gun, specifically mentioning the character ‘Goose’ portrayed by Anthony Edwards.
His look was revived by actor Miles Teller who played ‘Rooster’ in the sequel Top Gun: Maverick.
Followers expressed their enthusiasm for Robert’s short-lived new style on the post.
One fan wrote to Robert, saying she was overcome with emotion, while another encouraged him to continue as he was doing.
A third person joked: ‘You need to be in Top Gun 3!!!’
This follows Robert’s latest display of kindness towards animals of all sizes, which once again delighted his fans.

On Friday, he posted a video to Instagram showing him rescuing a chameleon that had gotten onto the road.
The clip began with the wildlife warrior walking up to the critter and gently picking it up.
‘Alright buddy, it’s ok,’ he said reassuringly. ‘Crossing the road, this little chameleon.’
Now that the adorable little animal was resting comfortably on Robert’s arm, he said, ‘He’s really cute, but it seems he doesn’t quite like me!’
