Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom Kills The Entire MCU In Horrifying Avengers: Doomsday Art

I’m so excited for Avengers: Doomsday! It looks like Victor von Doom, Doctor Doom, is finally joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Honestly, after everything we’ve seen, I think he’s going to be the biggest, most dangerous villain the MCU has ever faced.

I just saw some incredible fan art from @iToonOfficial imagining what would happen if Robert Downey Jr. played Doctor Doom and took down the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe with the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday! It’s seriously wild – you have to check it out below.

The artwork depicting the aftermath of the conflict shows not only heroes from the main Marvel Cinematic Universe being defeated, but also characters from alternate realities. This includes Spider-Men played by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, and members of the X-Men, all seemingly killed by Victor.

Although it’s not confirmed if any of the actors who’ve played Spider-Man will appear in Avengers: Doomsday, several actors who played X-Men in the previous Fox-Marvel movies are returning, including those who portrayed Cyclops, Magneto, and Professor X. Marvel Studios is already starting to promote the film by showing sneak peeks before screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash.

Even though Marvel hasn’t announced all the actors for Avengers: Doomsday yet, they’ll be doing some extra filming this spring. Then, they plan to start shooting Avengers: Secret Wars this summer. The Russo brothers, who directed previous Avengers films, will return to direct the final movie in the Multiverse Saga, which is currently scheduled to be released in December 2027.

Rumors suggest that some characters will die in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday story, particularly because Doctor Doom is the main villain. Considering the story involves the multiverse, it’s possible Victor could kill heroes across multiple realities.

Several actors who have been with the Marvel Cinematic Universe for a long time may be finishing their runs with upcoming films like Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has stated that these films, which conclude Phase 6, will lead to a refresh of the MCU’s direction, but not a complete restart.

I’ve been following what Kevin Feige has said about the future of the MCU, and he’s made it clear that the idea of a ‘reboot’ is something they’re approaching carefully. He understands that ‘reboot’ can sound alarming to fans. What they’re really considering is more of a reset, possibly streamlining everything into one central timeline. It’s not about completely starting over, but more about making things cohesive.

Avengers: Doomsday will open on December 18.
