Robert Downey Jr., Emma Stone, Cillian Murphy, Da’Vine Joy Randolph to present at 2025 Oscars
Last year’s acting winners are returning to the Oscars.
Actors Robert Downey Jr., Cillian Murphy, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, and Emma Stone are set to take the stage at the Oscars next month.
Actress Stone bagged the top actress award for her spine-tingling depiction of Bella Baxter in Yorgos Lanthimos’ “Poor Things.” Previously, she had triumphed in the same category back in 2017 for her role as an aspiring actress in Damien Chazelle’s “La La Land.
Last year, Randolph, who portrayed Mary Lamb in “The Holdovers,” received her initial Oscar for her moving performance as a grieving mother. Additionally, both Murphy and Downey Jr., each receiving an award for the first time, won for their roles in Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer.” That evening, the film garnered seven awards overall, among which was the best picture category.

We look at the likeliest nominees in key categories — and offer up a possible surprise or two.
2021’s nominations have faced delays multiple times because of the recent wildfires in Los Angeles. The final round of voting for the event will be completed by February 18th.
The spotlight is on the controversial musical “Emilia Pérez,” which has taken the lead with 13 nominations. Jon M. Chu’s “Wicked,” featuring Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, and Brady Corbet’s “The Brutalist” starring Adrien Brody are tied with 10 nominations. Other films contending for best picture include Sean Baker’s “Anora,” a modern take on Cinderella set in a strip club, the biopic of Bob Dylan titled “A Complete Unknown” featuring Timothée Chalamet, and Demi Moore’s body horror film “The Substance.” Here is the complete list of nominees.
Under the guidance of comedian Conan O’Brien, the 97th Academy Awards are set for March 2nd at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre. This grand event will air live on ABC, and for those preferring a streamed version, it will be accessible on Hulu starting at 4 p.m. In the upcoming weeks, additional presenters will be announced.
