Robert Carradine, the actor famous for playing in the “Revenge of the Nerds” films, has passed away at the age of 71.
In a statement to Deadline, Carradine’s family said he struggled with bipolar disorder.
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Robert Carradine, a beloved father, grandfather, uncle, and brother. He brought light and positivity to those around him, even during difficult times. The family acknowledges his courageous fight with Bipolar Disorder, a battle he faced for almost two decades, and mourns the loss of his kind spirit.
We hope his story will help reduce the shame surrounding mental health challenges. We are heartbroken by this loss and ask for privacy as we grieve. Thank you for your kindness and support.
David Carradine, part of a large and successful Hollywood family that included his brothers Keith, Christopher, and others, was a Los Angeles native. He began his acting career with appearances in popular shows like “Bonanza” (1971) and the film “The Cowboys” with John Wayne (1972), as reported by the Associated Press.
