Nick Reiner, accused of killing his parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is no longer being monitored for potential self-harm, according to reports.
The 32-year-old suspect, accused of two counts of first-degree murder in the December 14th killings, is still being held alone at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility, according to a source at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Nick is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in Los Angeles.
Nick was arrested on December 15th and has been wearing a special gown designed to prevent self-harm ever since.
Officials have confirmed that Nick is no longer wearing the smock and is now dressed in the standard prison uniform: a yellow shirt and blue pants, as required at the Downtown Los Angeles facility.
Nick will continue to be housed in a secure observation unit until a court decides differently. He will be constantly monitored and kept separate from other individuals, according to officials.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Nick’s attorney Alan Jackson for comment on the new development.
After Nick was arrested, a source within law enforcement told the Daily Mail that he was being monitored by the mental health team at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility.
Nick had been housed in the area for inmates who have ‘suicidal ideation,’ the insider said.
Nick is facing charges for the first-degree murder of his parents, Rob and Michele, who were found dead at their home in Brentwood, California on December 14th. Rob was 78 years old, and Michele was 70.
The charges include a special allegation involving the use of a knife in the slayings.
Rob Reiner’s 29-year-old daughter, Romy, found her father’s body after a scheduled massage therapist couldn’t get into their home, according to the New York Times.
First responders subsequently found Michelle’s body and told Romy the tragic news.
I’ve always admired Nick’s honesty about his struggles with addiction. It’s been a really tough journey for him, and he’s openly shared how it led to periods of homelessness and multiple times going to rehab. He’s incredibly brave to be so forthcoming about it all.

Rob directed and Nick co-wrote the 2016 film Being Charlie, which explored the complex dynamic between them and his father.
In a 2016 interview with the Associated Press, Rob Reiner explained that working on the film with Nick helped them gain a deeper understanding of themselves.
The filmmaker explained that during production, they told Nick, ‘Regardless of how the film is received, we’ve already succeeded. This has been a positive experience.’ They added that the process had been challenging but ultimately rewarding.
In a 2016 interview with People, Nick revealed that he had been to rehab 17 times by the age of 22.
Nick explained that his family had repeatedly given him a difficult choice: either get help at rehab or be cut off completely. Sometimes, he chose to leave and live on his own instead.
Nick explained that he refused the help offered to him, and as a result, he experienced homelessness. He spent weeks living on the streets, which he described as a very difficult time.
Nick said that he had been homeless across the US, including stints in Texas, New Jersey and Maine.
