Rob Lowe’s Son Pulls Hilarious Prank on Him at Star-Studded Premiere!
Despite attending the Los Angeles premiere of his son John Owen Lowe’s film, Grace Point, on Thursday, Rob Lowe couldn’t escape some trouble from his son during the event.
As a die-hard fanboy, I couldn’t help but feel my heart swell with pride as I cheered on Rob, my 60-year-old hero, at the cinema. The reason for my joy? His remarkable 29-year-old son, who was stealing the show in a film where he shared the screen once again with his St. Elmo’s Fire costar, the legendary Andrew McCarthy, now 62 years old.
In this movie, John is making his first appearance as the main character, as it’s just the second full-length film he’s been given credit for acting in.
However, this didn’t deter the budding superstar from playing a trick on his dad, using a portable whiteboard to write his name, as if he hadn’t already achieved such great fame.
The initial event became a gathering of family members, with Rob being accompanied by his son, Matthew Edward Lowe, who is 31 years old.
Rob, who sadly experienced the loss of his brother Chad’s house during the latest Los Angeles fires, maintained a stylish and fresh appearance with his all-black outfit.
I sported a sleek, black turtleneck sweater under a streamlined zip-up jacket, accompanied by stylish pinstriped trousers in a harmonious tone that added an unexpected touch to my laid-back outfit.
He finished off his single-toned style with a pair of glossy, substantial black boots, and he boasted a impressively dense head of dark hair.
John, his mischievous son, bore a striking resemblance to the rebellious heartthrob of the Brat Pack, and to match this persona, he decided on a stylish leather jacket that exuded an uncanny air of nonchalant sophistication, making him seem far too hip for the average classroom.
As an ardent admirer, let me tell you, I’d be strutting around in a sleek black top, the neckline just right to showcase my coveted golden chain gleaming beneath. Pair that with a chic pair of high-waisted black trousers, cinched perfectly by a slim black leather belt adorned with a striking gold buckle – now that’s style at its finest!
John preferred stylish black boots, and he sported a neatly trimmed mustache along with unkempt hair, which gave him an even stronger resemblance to his dashing father.
40 years after McCarthy worked alongside his father in the ensemble film St. Elmo’s Fire (which featured a group of up-and-coming stars such as Demi Moore, Emilio Estevez, Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy, Mare Winningham, and Andie MacDowell), he will now be collaborating with McCarthy in a new project.
As per Grace Point’s formal summary, John is depicted as a troubled youth battling substance addiction. He seeks help at a secluded rehabilitation center, but instead encounters hostility from the townsfolk who appear determined to pursue him.
I was ecstatically escorted by my dad, Winston (portrayed brilliantly by McCarthy), to the rehabilitation facility, but our joyride took an unexpected turn when we were viciously ambushed at a gas station. Unfortunately, dear old Dad got hurt in the chaos.
In simpler terms, John must escape to protect himself, yet he is responsible for attempting a rescue if something terrible happens to his father.
He made an affectionate show of posing with his brother Matthew on the red carpet.
In a matching outfit like the rest of his family, there is Rob’s older sibling, who he has together with his spouse, the former makeup artist, Sheryl Berkoff.
He donned a shiny, deep midnight blue jacket featuring a black fur-trimmed collar, paired with a plain black V-neck top, dark trousers, and a gray baseball hat.
At the premiere, it seems like John might have been attempting to retaliate against his father, following Rob’s comment from last year, when he described collaborating with him on their Netflix series “Unstable” as a difficult and nightmarish experience.
He playfully implied that he’d enrolled his son at Stanford, a place where he pursued science and technology, with the expectation that he would discover a cure for cancer instead of becoming an actor sharing scenes with him.
‘I mean, if he wanted to be an actor, he could have worked at Jamba Juice!’ he joked.
