Road to UFC Season 3 live results & highlights
As a longtime MMA enthusiast with over two decades of experience under my belt, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming episodes of “Road to UFC.” The prospect of new talent being discovered and added to the roster is always exhilarating, and this season promises some truly electrifying matchups.
At UFC Vegas 96, the finales of The Ultimate Fighter Season 32 will be held, granting contracts to one featherweight and one middleweight contenders. Concurrently, the eighth season of Dana White’s Contender Series has commenced, with eight contracts already handed out over two weeks.
On Friday the 23rd of August, I’ve got another shot at making it big with the UFC! The event is called “Road to UFC” and it’s happening right here in Las Vegas, Nevada. There are eight semifinal matches spread across four divisions, and each winner will move on to the championship later this year. Can’t wait to see who will emerge victorious and get a chance at the ultimate prize!
5th episode commences at 9 p.m. ET, where we’ll find out who the finalists are in both flyweight and bantamweight categories. In the main event, Japan’s Tokitaka Nakanishi (12-3) squares off against China’s Balgyn Jenisuly at 135 pounds. The victor of this fight will meet either Su Young You (12-3) or Daermisi Zhawupasi (9-1).
In the second featured bout, undefeated flyweight Dong Hoon Choi from South Korea and Angad Bisht of India are set to keep their winning streaks going. The winner of this matchup will then face either Kiru Singh Sahota or Ruel Panales for a chance to secure a UFC contract.
In the evening’s first bout, a special exhibition fight in the women’s flyweight category is scheduled. Emerging Irish fighter Danni McCormack (8-2), who’s garnered much attention, will have her chance to prove she belongs in the UFC when she squares off against Qihui Yan (25-4) inside the Octagon.
For the sixth episode airing at 8 p.m. ET on Friday evening, the headline bout features featherweights Bin Xie from China (with a record of 12 wins and 4 losses) going up against Masuto Kawana from Japan. The other spot for the 145-pound championship will be filled by Shin Haraguchi (8 wins, 1 loss) from Japan and Kangjie Zhu (19 wins, 4 losses) from China.
In the secondary main event, we focus on the women’s strawweight category. Huaxiang Dong, with a record of 12 wins and 2 losses, is set to battle against Ming Shi, who has 15 victories and 5 defeats. This contest will feature two Chinese competitors. The winner could potentially face either China’s Xiaocan Feng (9-2) or Japan’s Miki Motono (8-4).
As a fervent fan, I’m eagerly anticipating the highly-anticipated clash in Episode Six, focusing on the welterweight division. The unbeaten Samandrar Muruodv, hailing from Tajikistan with an impressive record of 10-0, is the clear betting favorite. However, he’ll be facing a formidable challenge in Jonathan Piersma, a former Cage Titans champion boasting a strong 9-2 record. This promises to be an exciting matchup!
