RLCS makes North American return with 2025 Raleigh Major slated for June

In June of 2025, a major tournament for the most competitive level of Rocket League will take place in North Carolina. The city of Raleigh has been chosen as the host for this event, which is the second RLCS Major of the year.

As a gaming enthusiast and a proud resident of Raleigh, I can hardly contain my excitement! For the very first time, our city is about to witness the grandeur of a major Rocket League tournament. Sixteen of the planet’s top Rocket League teams are gearing up to make their presence felt here. The stakes are high as they compete for an impressive prize pool of $351,000 USD. But that’s not all! The points they earn will determine if they get a shot at the Rocket League World Championship in September. It’s more than just a game – it’s history being made right here, right now!

Raleigh adds Rocket League to long list of esports hosted in the city in 2025

The Raleigh Major tournament is scheduled from June 26 to 29. Over the last two days, approximately 20,000 spectators will be present at the Lenovo Center as the event unfolds. At the conclusion of this major event, one team will receive a prize of $102,000 and gain 36 RLCS Points, which moves them closer to qualifying for the World Championships.

The registration process for the Raleigh Major commences on April 18, following the completion of the initial tournament of the year in Birmingham. More specific details about the qualifiers can be found by clicking here.

Raleigh is rapidly gaining recognition as a significant force in North American eSports, and now Rocket League joins the roster of games that have temporarily set up shop in this city. Some of the notable titles like Call of Duty, Halo, and Dota 2 are among those that have previously visited Raleigh over time.

Previously, Rocket League made a visit to the United States, as evidenced by the 2024 World Championship held in Fort Worth, Texas in September, which was claimed by Team BDS. Notably, other RLCS events have taken place in cities like San Diego, Los Angeles, and Newark in the past.
