Riz Ahmed’s best movie is on TV tonight

Riz Ahmed’s best movie (sorry Venom) Sound of Metal is getting another airing on UK TV tonight.

2020’s movie revolves around a drummer specializing in heavy metal music who gradually loses his ability to hear during a tour, grappling with the possibility of going deaf.

If you haven’t seen it before or simply want to watch it again, the movie “Sound of Metal” is being shown tonight at 11:05 pm on BBC Two.

No need to fret if it’s past the movie screening time on a Monday night via BBC Two, or if you didn’t catch the live broadcast. The film “Sound of Metal” will soon be accessible for streaming on BBC iPlayer, shortly following its airing on BBC Two.

The movie titled “Sound of Metal” received a great deal of praise when it was first released a while back, eventually winning two Oscars in the categories of Best Sound and Best Film Editing.

In addition to Ahmed, who received an Academy Award nomination for his portrayal of Ruben Stone, the film also features Olivia Cooke from Game of Thrones’ spin-off House of the Dragon, Paul Raci from Sing, and Lauren Ridloff from The Walking Dead.

The movie is directed by and also co-written by Darius Marder, along with Abraham Marder, who crafted the script together.

Rami Malek, who played roles in “Rogue One” and “The Night Of”, has kept a busy schedule since the release of “Sound of Metal”. Notably, he won an Oscar in 2022 for Best Live Action Short Film for his work in “The Long Goodbye“.

He has just appeared in the films “Relay”, “Fingernails”, “Encounter” and “Flee”, and will soon be appearing in a new adaptation of “Hamlet” alongside Morfydd Clark, known for “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” and Joe Alwyn, who starred in “Conversations with Friends.

Ahmed is also set to star in a new London-set comedy series from Prime Video called Quarter Life.

The upcoming TV series will feature Guz Khan from “Taskmaster” and follows the story of a struggling actor, played by Ahmed, who encounters an existential dilemma and becomes entangled in a mind-bending conspiracy mystery, all while standing on the brink of his biggest role yet.

Tonight, at 11:05 PM, I’ll be tuning into BBC Two to catch the gripping movie, Sound of Metal. If you miss it, don’t worry! You can always find it later on BBC iPlayer once it’s been aired.
