DC superhero series Black Lightning has landed a new UK streaming home.
The television series featuring Nafessa Williams from “Rivals” and Cress Williams known for “Prison Break”, was broadcasted on The CW and Netflix networks from the years 2018 to 2021.
On March 23rd, it is now officially confirmed that ITVX will make all four seasons available for your viewing pleasure, so if you’re in search of your next streaming marathon, you can stop looking right here!

The series revolves around Jefferson Pierce, previously a school principal with a hidden identity as superhero Black Lightning, who possesses the power to control electricity for the protection of his city. As lawlessness and corruption escalate, he decides to reactivate his secret persona.
Black Lightning received significant praise during its initial release, boasting a remarkable 92% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
In the initial review by Digital Spy, we referred to it as a “confident first appearance,” emphasizing that it had a “distinctive theme” and a “definite style.

There’s no doubt that the pilot episode of “Black Lightning” surpasses the pilots of most of its DC TV sibling shows, several of which eventually thrived despite rocky beginnings.
Nevertheless, the series concluded following a three-year run, with showrunner Salim Akil explaining back then: “Initiating the Black Lightning adventure, I understood that Jefferson Pierce and his family of remarkable Black women would bring a distinctive flavor to the superhero realm.
“Throughout the past three seasons, the affection demonstrated by Blerds and comic book enthusiasts worldwide toward this series has confirmed our assumption – there is a strong desire among black people to witness characters that represent the full spectrum of their experiences.
In the Disney+ show “Rivals,” Nafessa Williams portrayed Cameron Cook, while she previously starred as Jefferson’s daughter Anissa in another series. On the other hand, China Anne McClain from “Descendants” took on the role of the sister Jennifer in this production.
Black Lightning will be available to stream on ITVX from March 23.
