Rivals much-anticipated second season promises “jaw-dropping twists” with first look at return

New photos offer a first look at the second season of Rivals, the popular series based on Jilly Cooper’s novel. The award-winning show explores the competitive and often cutthroat world of British television in the 1980s.

The story centers on Tony Baddingham, played by David Tennant, and Rupert Campbell-Black, played by Alex Hassell, as they battle for power over Baddingham’s local, independent TV station, Corinium.

Okay, so season one ended with a crazy cliffhanger! This American TV exec, Cameron Cook – played by Nafessa Williams – actually whacked Lord Baddingham with a TV award after they got into a fight. Seriously, she just hit him! Now we’re all left wondering if he’s even going to be okay. It was a total shocker!

The cast also welcomes new members Oliver Dench, Amanda Lawrence, Bobby Lockwood, Eliot Salt, and Jonny Weldon.
