Rita Ora wraps up in a black coat as she leaves sushi restaurant with poker player Driss in West Hollywood

Rita Ora was spotted having dinner with poker player Driss at Sushi Park in West Hollywood on Wednesday, staying warm in a black puffer coat.

The 35-year-old singer kept it casual for the night, pairing wide-legged black trousers with a navy bandana.

The hitmaker wore her blonde locks tucked in and completed her look with a light palette of makeup. 

She was joined by Driss, a poker player and art-collecting entrepreneur from Gardena, California, as reported by toppokerstreamers.com.

He was wearing a light blue hoodie and dark pants while showing Rita something on his phone.

Driss has played in two episodes of the livestream poker show, Hustler Casino Live. One of those games included a session with Benny Blanco, who is married to Selena Gomez.

Rita married him four years ago and became a stepmother to his two daughters, Te Kāinga o te Hinekāhu, age 13, and Matewa Kiritapu, age 9.

Rita recently revealed what she believes makes her marriage to Taika work: a solid friendship. She says their strong bond as friends is the foundation of their romance.

He described his relationship with Taika as a close friendship, saying they simply wanted to maintain that comfortable dynamic indefinitely.

Rita surprised everyone by proposing, and the couple then had a private wedding ceremony in August 2022.

The couple didn’t officially announce their small Los Angeles wedding until a year afterwards. Rita later told Grazia magazine they hadn’t planned it at all, and just went with the flow.

Rita described her twenties as a period of searching for the right partner. When she finally met Taika, she felt an immediate sense of comfort and security – it just felt right.

The pair started dating in March 2021, before going public with their romance that August.

Prior to their romantic relationship, Rita and Taika were close friends for five years.

Rita rarely discusses her family, but she recently shared how becoming a stepmother shifted her outlook on life.

Rita told The Sun that while she finds the job straightforward, it’s also given her a new appreciation for everything life has to offer.

It’s a simple routine. We all wake up and exercise together – even the kids get involved, running on the treadmills, making it a fun family activity.

It’s been really enlightening to realize that life often has more to offer than what we’re currently focused on. Becoming a stepmother helped me understand that – it showed me there’s a much bigger picture.

Director Taika Waititi and his ex-wife, Chelsea Winstanley, share two children together. The couple separated in 2018 after being married for seven years.
