Rita Ora poses up a storm in sheer black lace dress as she beams beside husband Taika Waititi at Disney afterparty
As someone who has spent countless hours immersed in the captivating world of television and film, I must say that this year’s awards season has been nothing short of extraordinary. The recognition bestowed upon the cast and crew of Shogun is well-deserved, particularly for Anna Sawai and Hiroyuki Sanada who delivered outstanding performances that truly resonated with audiences worldwide.
On Sunday night, I made quite an entrance at The Walt Disney Company’s grand event, which took place at the Music Center in sunny Los Angeles. Needless to say, I turned heads as I walked in!
33-year-old music sensation dazzled in a see-through black lace gown, radiating joy alongside her spouse, Taika Waititi.
As an ardent admirer, let me tell you, the performer dazzled with a scintillating outfit that showcased ample skin. This eye-catching number had a corset-like bodice and ethereal black sleeves flowing around it.
Simultaneously, at the age of 49, Taika exuded elegance in a sleek black velvet coat, paired with crisp white trousers and a stylish bow tie, preparing himself for the special event.
Rita arranged her golden hair in a 1920s flapper-inspired fashion and displayed a collection of tattoos on her back, which were visible through her revealing gown.
Previously, during the evening hours, Rita was among the British actors such as Nicola Coughlan, Juno Temple, and Gillian Anderson who graced the red carpet at the 76th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.
On a sunny Los Angeles afternoon, I graced the stage of the iconic Peacock Theater, adorned in an exquisite feathered dress that made me feel like a modern-day peacock myself.
The star’s pale pink ensemble featured a corset bodice with a dramatic cape, draped loosely over her arms.
At the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards, where a glamorous red carpet was rolled out, Hacks unexpectedly defeated The Bear to claim the top comedy prize in an exciting upset. Meanwhile, Shogun dominated the drama categories with an unprecedented sweep and set new records for wins.
At the grand gala event hosted at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California on Sunday, the HBO comedy featuring Jean Smart as its leading actress (who was honored with Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series) and Hannah Einbinder triumphed in the Outstanding Comedy Series category. This meant that they ended the night as the top show in this category, beating out the FX series.
During this time, Shogun surpassed all previous records in a single television season with 18 episodes. The series not only received the highest accolade as Outstanding Drama Series but also recognized Anna Sawai and Hiroyuki Sanada individually for their exceptional performances as Outstanding Lead Actress and Actor In A Drama Series, respectively.
In the realm of limited and anthology series, it was Netflix’s Baby Reindeer that garnered the accolade of Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. Furthermore, Richard Gadd was honored with Outstanding Lead Actor In A Limited Or Anthology Series, while Jessica Gunning received recognition for her role with the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Limited Or Anthology Series.
This year’s event occurred about eleven months following the 75th installment, originally scheduled for September 2023 but postponed to January 2024 due to writer and actor strikes.
Apart from “The Bear,” Hacks managed to win the category for Outstanding Comedy Series against a strong lineup that included Abbott Elementary, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Reservation Dogs, Only Murders in the Building, Palm Royale, and What We Do in the Shadows.
The evening looked promising for The Bear, with a chance to clean sweep the comedy series acting awards. However, things took an unexpected turn when Ayo Edebiri lost to Jean Smart from Hacks in the Outstanding Lead Actress In A Comedy Series category during the ceremony itself.
Apart from Ayo, the 73-year-old resident of Seattle managed to outshine Quinta Brunson, Abbott Elementary, Selena Gomez’s latest project “Only Murders in the Building”, Kristen Wiig, Palm Royale, and Maya Rudolph’s show “Loot”.
Despite not making it to the pinnacle of comedy, The Bear has already garnered initial recognition for its stellar cast members, including Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Liza Colón-Zayas, in me.
For the second year in a row, the 33-year-old actor from Brooklyn, Jeremy, was awarded the prestigious title of Outstanding Lead Actor In A Comedy Series.
In the same vein, Ebon, a 47-year-old New York native playing Richie Jerimovich on the FX series, clinched the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for the second consecutive year, similar to Jeremy.
Lastly he 52-year-old New York native Liza – who is an actress and playwright – beat some high-profile names in the industry including: Carol Burnett, Palm Royale, Hannah Einbinder, Hacks, Janelle James, Abbott Elementary, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Abbott Elementary, and Meryl Streep, Only Murders In The Building.
Simultaneously, Shogun triumphed significantly in the dramatic category and set a new record with its impressive haul of 18 awards across all categories.
The FX series topped off the night with a win in the coveted Outstanding Drama Series category triumphing over The Crown, Fallout, The Gilded Age, The Morning Show, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Slow Horses, and 3 Body Problem.
Additionally, the series was awarded Outstanding Female Lead Actress in a Drama Series for Anna Sawai and Outstanding Male Lead Actor in a Drama Series for Hiroyuki Sanada.
Elisabeth Debicki received the highest accolade, Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Drama Series, for her portrayal of Princess Diana in The Crown.
I am thrilled to share that among a stellar lineup of talented actresses, including Christine Baranski, Nicole Beharie, Greta Lee (both from The Morning Show), Lesley Manville (The Crown), Karen Pittman, and Holland Taylor (both from The Morning Show), in the Gilded Age series, I was chosen to receive the honor.
In simpler terms, Baby Reindeer triumphed significantly, winning four accolades in the restricted and anthology series categories. Notably, it claimed the prestigious title of Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. Furthermore, it garnered three significant awards, with Richard Gadd and Jessica Gunning each taking home two, one being for their leading roles.
In the Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Limited or Anthology Series category, Gunning clinched an acclaimed victory, delivering an exceptional performance in Baby Reindeer that truly stood out.
35-year-old Gadd clinched two awards in the categories of Outstanding Lead Actor In A Limited or Anthology Series, as well as Writing for a Limited or Anthology Series, for his exceptional work as the creator, star, and director of the widely acclaimed Netflix series.
