Rita Ora and Sterling K Brown join Henry Cavill’s new movie

As a seasoned gamer and a devoted fan of both anime and live-action adaptations, I can hardly contain my excitement over the upcoming Voltron movie! With Rita Ora and Sterling K Brown joining Henry Cavill’s star-studded cast, it seems that this live-action adaptation is shaping up to be a true masterpiece.

Rita Ora and Sterling K Brown have joined the cast of Henry Cavill’s new movie Voltron.

In the upcoming Amazon MGM Studios live-action movie, both a renowned pop artist and an actor known for his role in “This Is Us” will join forces with Cavill, John Kim, and Daniel Quinn-Toye. Filming is scheduled to start in Australia later this month (as reported by The Hollywood Reporter).

The director of the movie “Red Notice,” Rawson Marshall Thurber, is overseeing the project based on a screenplay he co-wrote with Ellen Shanman. Thurber will also serve as one of the producers alongside Todd Lieberman, Bob Koplar, and David Hoberman.

The collection of stories known as the “Voltron” series is derived from various Japanese animated shows, such as “Beast King GoLion” and “Kikou Kantai Dairugger XV.” Notably, it focuses on a group of astronauts commandeering a massive super robot named Voltron.

Since its initial release, the show has given birth to multiple American adaptations, such as Netflix’s “Voltron: Legendary Defender,” which ran for a total of eight exciting seasons.

Although specifics about the upcoming movie’s storyline are still confidential, Thurber hinted at what viewers might anticipate in a video message that was unveiled during VoltCon in October.

He emphasized that our production should remain faithful to the essence and soul of “Voltron”. In this movie, we will present a completely fresh crew of pilots, he clarified.

We’ve creatively transformed Voltron for a live-action setting, while still preserving the cherished aspects that resonate with both you and me.

Besides her thriving music profession, Ora is also recognized for her roles as a judge on shows like The Masked Singer, The X Factor, and The Voice.

This year, she became a part of the cast for the upcoming action-thriller titled “He Bled Neon“. The film also features Jack O’Connell from “Skins”, Joe Cole from “Peaky Blinders”, and retired NFL player Marshawn Lynch.

Concerning Brown, he has recently appeared in Cord Jefferson’s drama “American Fiction,” a role that garnered him an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor this year.

In April, the actor secured a part in the upcoming thriller “Double Booked,” directed by Adam Scott. He will be joined by Zazie Beetz and Alexandra Daddario in this project.

For enthusiasts of the TV series “This Is Us”, Brown additionally co-hosts a weekly review podcast together with Mandy Moore and Chris Sullivan. In this podcast, they scrutinize each episode from a 2024 perspective.

Voltron doesn’t have a release date yet.
