RIP Hobbs: The Rock’s Beloved Dog Dies at 10

On Tuesday, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson honored his doggy costar, Hobbs, following his passing at the age of 10.

On Monday evening, it was reported that the beloved French Bulldog who played the role of Hobbs, the faithful companion to the actor in Netflix’s Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, has sadly passed away.

As a devoted admirer, I’ve decided to echo the recent events in my life, sharing them through a heartfelt series of images and videos on Instagram. These precious moments capture the bond between me, at 52, and my cherished canine companion. Regrettably, these posts serve to convey some sad news to our community of followers.

He wrote: ‘RIP (heartbroken emoji) Hobbs.

I’ve been feeling emotionless due to his passing, yet we are incredibly thankful for each drop of unconditional love he showered upon all of us as a family. We are also relieved that he didn’t endure prolonged pain, as he peacefully and bravely departed during the night.

Recently, there are many things I find difficult to discuss. Feeling solitary and isolated, it seems as though everything remains unchanged.

Among the tunes I adore, one seemed fitting in this context, as I ponder about his fresh reality, since I am acquainted with the nature of mine.

I’m unsure about the mechanics of spirits, but it seems they occasionally return to cause mischief and share more laughter with us.

2019 saw Hobbs being chosen for the Fast & Furious film by none other than its producer and star, Dwayne Johnson, who considered it fitting given the character’s name.

At that moment, the actor posted a delightful photo of himself and Hobbs on Instagram. He affectionately referred to his dog as “Hobbs,” telling his followers, “Allow me to present to you, the mischievous little fellow – Hobbs.

As the producer of Hobbs and Shaw, I felt it appropriate to include my French Bulldog in our film, nepotism aside.

Both versions convey the idea that the speaker included their dog in the film despite potential accusations of nepotism (favoritism towards family or friends).

The title went along with a clip featuring Hobbs’ moments at the filming location, where Dwayne referred to Hobbs as a high-maintenance actor.

In the video, he commented: ‘Hobbs demonstrated true professionalism. Unlike his handler, he was disciplined, focused, and followed instructions from the director, as opposed to his handler.’

In his post’s description, the actor shared that he and his family adopted Hobbs and his sibling Brutus back in 2016. Unfortunately, Brutus didn’t live long after that, passing away just a few months later.

He went on to say: “This tiny creature, Hobbs, brought sorrow to our hearts, but he’s now living life to the fullest each day. I take great pride in his acting skills during our film, and not to mention, he once managed a fantastic 3-curl shot right smack in the middle of the set.
