Riot Games steps back and Clash will happen monthly again (with some changes)
After receiving criticism from the community, changes are coming to Clash. Take a look at the revised Clash schedule for the year 2025.
To start off this month, there was news that Clash events would occur less frequently throughout the year. Due to an unfortunate period of bugs and technical issues, including numerous glitches, fans became extremely upset with the tournament. However, we are now returning to the original schedule.
As per the Riot Games developer’s video (released around two weeks ago, not the latest one), it appears that the delays in resolving issues were due to the Clash team being assigned to work on upcoming games.
In today’s progress report, we learned that the Clash event will shift back from a bi-monthly basis to being held each month. You can find the updated schedule towards the end of this post.
New changes in Clash
As a dedicated fan of Clash, I’ve noticed an exciting update that brings along some minor tweaks. Apart from reaching level 30 and participating in at least one ranked Summoner’s Rift queue on League of Legends either this year or the previous one, there’s a new requirement: verifying your account via SMS to establish a team.
This feature is exclusive for Clash users, only mobile or prepaid phone numbers are valid. Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) numbers like Google Voice won’t function with this. Regarding ARAM and ARURF, the account level requirement remains at 30, and SMS verification is still necessary. However, you no longer need to play Ranked matches to join in.
In a more conversational style: This new feature is just for Clash users; we only accept mobile or prepaid phone numbers. VoIP services like Google Voice aren’t compatible here. For ARAM and ARURF, it’s still level 30 for your account, and you’ll need SMS verification. But the good news is, you don’t have to play Ranked matches to join in!
At your convenience, you can disconnect your number from your account. However, please be aware that once you disconnect, a six-month waiting period starts immediately. If in the future you decide to reconnect the same phone number, you’ll need to first disconnect and then wait for six months before attempting to connect again.
As a fan, here’s what I recommend: Simply receive the code on your phone and confirm my account. Keep in mind that too many unsuccessful attempts may temporarily block me from proceeding with verification. Don’t forget to include your country code – if you’re unsure, check out this list provided below.
Champ select
Similar to League of Legends Worlds and other regional competitions, there’ll be two ban stages and two pick stages in our tournament format. The team captain will handle all the banning decisions for their squad. Unlike standard matches, if you don’t explicitly choose or hover over a champion, one will be randomly selected for you to prevent dodging as much as feasible.
Sudden Death
In approximately an hour (or 40 minutes for ARURF), towers will grow weaker and easier to knock down. Five minutes after that, structures will gradually self-destruct at a steady pace, starting with the towers, then inhibitors, then nexus turrets, and finally the nexus. After another five minutes, one team will emerge victorious in the game. The objective is to maintain a consistent game length.
Pauses and Remakes disable
Pauses and remakes are disabled for Clash to avoid trolling and abuse of these features.
Tickets and Clash week schedule
To gain access to Clash, you’ll require either a Standard or Deluxe Pass. The main distinction is that the deluxe pass guarantees more substantial rewards. You can obtain these passes through missions, a teammate, or by purchasing them with Blue Essence or RP in the store. Every two competitions, successfully completing the missions will grant you one pass. In Clash, tickets serve as a unique means of entry and, if necessary, you can buy Basic Tickets using Blue Essence or RP from the store.
Gather your team together on Monday, however, the matches will take place over the weekend – specifically on Saturdays and Sundays (or potentially both days). If your Saturday game doesn’t turn out favorably, you have the option to play another match on Sunday with your original team or a different one. Clash schedule
Over the remainder of the year, you can find the itinerary for Clash tournaments. We are set to host a total of six such events before the season concludes, with the upcoming one taking place this coming weekend on March 1st and 2nd.
From the heart of a League of Legends enthusiast, I’m eagerly awaiting the details about the LoL Worlds Clash. Rest assured, I’ll keep you posted as soon as I get my hands on them. Sometimes, things can shift and dates might change, but fear not! If that happens, this very article will be promptly updated to reflect the new information.
