Riot Games reveal VCT Champions locations for 2026 and beyond

As a dedicated VALORANT player, I’m excited to share that Riot Games has dropped some major updates about our competitive league! They’ve revealed some cool stuff, including the venues for the VCT Champions in 2026 and 2027. Can’t wait to see where the action takes place next!

Where will VCT Champions 2026 and 2027 be held?

In a recent announcement, Anna Donlon, head of VALORANT Studio, along with Leo Faria, Global Head of VALORANT Esports, disclosed that the Venue for VCT Champions 2026 will be China, and the event for 2027 will take place in the Americas.

VALORANT Champions Tour in the near future

As someone who has been following the Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) for quite some time now, I am both excited and intrigued by the recent revelation of the changes coming to the league structure and schedule in 2025. Having witnessed the growth and evolution of this competitive scene, it’s fascinating to see how the organizers are constantly striving to improve the experience for players and fans alike.

The VCT Challengers are going to help out Academy teams from franchises, along with other adjustments.

In the meantime, Ascension is undergoing a major revamp to merge its areas, fostering a more intense rivalry among competitors in the tournament.

From a dedicated fan’s perspective, I must say that the elongated competition schedule translates to fewer gaps in the action-packed calendar of professional games. This extended run allows me to immerse myself deeper into supporting my beloved team throughout the season.

At the VCT Champions 2024 Media Day event, Riot Games unveiled these updates to us. Among other important figures were John Needham, who serves as the President of Esports and Publishing, and Andy Ho, in his role as Executive Producer.

Donlon and Faria looked into the idea of creating a distinct competitive league for console gamers. Recently, VALORANT has been released on consoles.

According to Donlon, VALORANT is in development for mobile devices too, though an official launch date hasn’t been set yet. She stressed the significance of delivering a genuine VALORANT gaming experience on mobile platforms. In her words, it will be released “when it’s fully prepared.”
