Rio Ferdinand hits back at troll on wife Kate’s bikini snaps after she gave a glimpse into their summer getaway
As a passionate admirer, I’d like to express my solidarity with Rio Ferdinand, who’s standing tall in defense of his beloved spouse, Kate, amidst the unwarranted online backlash she’s endured over her beautiful holiday snapshots featuring her in a bikini.
On Saturday, the ex-TOWIE cast member, aged 34, shared some glimpses of her latest family vacation in Portugal on Instagram.
The post featured a delightful snapshot of Kate and Rio standing hand-in-hand near an entrance, showcasing an appetizing assortment of dishes, along with charming instances of their frolicsome times at the beach.
Two photographs of Kate in swimsuits, one in olive green and another in black, were among the carousel. These images captured her breathtaking physique as she enjoyed the sunshine.
Alongside the post she penned: ‘July has been full of memories (& food) in our home from home’.
However, not all people were pleased. One social media user criticized, stating: “I don’t believe it’s necessary to wear a bikini.

While it’s unclear which image drew the criticism, Rio, 46, wasted no time clapping back.
Within minutes, he replied: ‘@brendaweav1 ffs Brenda, have a day off.’
The podcast host is the step-parent to her spouse Rio’s trio of kids: Lorenz (age 18), Tate (age 16), and Tia (age 14).
Additionally, she is a mother to two kids – her son Cree, who was born in December 2020, and her daughter Shae, born in the year 2023, with Rio.
Following Rio’s recent disclosure about the initial phases of his relationship with Kate, he acknowledged that his children’s response ultimately shaped the course of their relationship moving forward.
In an episode of Kate’s podcast titled “Blended,” the ex-footballer shared the strategies he employed when faced with the challenge of starting a fresh romantic relationship while also managing as a single parent to his three kids, following the unfortunate loss of his spouse, Rebecca.
At the tender age of 34, Rebecca lost her life following a brief struggle against breast cancer. Despite giving no initial signs of the illness, a subsequent scan showed that the cancer had advanced and spread to her bones five weeks prior to her passing. Before this unfortunate event, she had already arranged her own funeral.
In the midst of his sorrow, Rio became acquainted with Kate, whom he started dating in 2017. However, introducing her to his family was a gradual process for them. The pair got married in Turkey in September 2019 and are now parents to two kids; Cree, who is four, and Shae, who will be turning two this month.

In speaking with his spouse, Rio shared his thoughts about discussing his relationship with their children, saying, “It can be challenging because, if not handled properly – with no prior discussions and incorrectly executed – it may not be easily overcome.
If folks are refusing and children are expressing their hesitation, well, I guess I was fortunate enough not to reach that stage…
If my children have declined, then it’s likely that we aren’t present at this moment. This is because we seldom get the opportunity to reach this place, which is where we feel deeply and passionately in love…
Due to the fact that when the children refused, we were in a romantic relationship at that point, but it was still an early stage where we were considering our paths. However, on both sides, the conclusion was, ‘The kids won’t accept me; this is becoming too stressful.’
…”I’m saying, ‘The children aren’t content. They need to be the priority.’ I believe many relationships might suffer due to this…
It seems difficult to move forward when you’ve recently discovered someone you care deeply for, and the children are not part of this relationship.

If they become engrossed and unhappy, it’s hard for me to imagine how you can continue to progress jointly without parting ways.
As we proceeded through the initial phases, he emphasized the significance of introducing a new member to our home appropriately. Before discussing it with the children, we had extensive discussions prior.
Initially, we introduced Kate as an acquaintance, and she began to accompany us to various social gatherings, such as visiting friends’ homes. You can expect Kate to be present. Additionally, Ronnie, our friendly pet dog, adds warmth to the situation too.
However, those instances of recognition, like ‘Oh, it’s Kate,’ soften what comes next, where you say, ‘Alright, everyone.’ I believe our focus was more on incorporating their thoughts, making them feel involved, and giving them a sense of control over the entire scenario…
Hey everyone, don’t forget about Kate. Shall we go somewhere with Dad now and see what happens? I’ve experienced the consequences of a similar situation in my own family recently, and it wasn’t pretty.
