Amazon’s Prime Video reported that the second season of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” achieved a new record-breaking milestone in its viewership.
The second season of the Middle-earth television show started not long ago, carrying on with the narrative of the Second Age while Sauron’s influence expands.
In a recent communication to Amazon, Jennifer Salke, head of MGM studios, announced that the new episodes have drawn in over 40 million viewers since their premiere on August 29. Notably, Rings of Power season 2 ranks among the top four most-watched TV series in Amazon’s history.
The message indicates that based on important metrics, the show’s second season has already garnered the attention of 40 million viewers during its first two weekends, suggesting another successful season is likely in store. (Source: Variety)
She also mentioned that since early August, a significant number, approximately tens of millions, have viewed Season 1. Moreover, she pointed out that a notable percentage of these viewers originate from countries outside the United States.
However, the metrics on how Prime Video determines viewers remain unclear.
In 2022, the series titled “Rings of Power” made a grand entrance, with the streaming platform announcing it as their biggest premiere ever, having been viewed by approximately 25 million viewers on the very day of its launch.
