At The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, Ringbrothers unveiled their most daring creation to date: a completely reinvented 1971 Aston Martin DBS dubbed Octavia. This commission, involving over 12,000 hours of design and craftsmanship, represents Ringbrothers’ inaugural Aston Martin project as well as their introduction at Monterey Car Week.
Nestled under a carbon-fiber body shaped like a hand is a Ford Performance 5L V8 engine combined with a Harrop supercharger, generating an impressive 805 horsepower via a six-speed manual transmission. To balance this powerful vehicle’s handling, it boasts a wider stance, a structural cage integrated into the design, and a custom chassis crafted by Roadster Shop. To round out its high-performance features, it is equipped with distinctive three-piece HRE centerlock wheels, potent Brembo brakes, and Fox coilovers – all elements that reflect a top-tier motorsport setup.
The design elements strike a harmonious blend between maintaining the essence of the original and introducing something freshly modern. The Double-0 Silver body pays tribute to the DBS silhouette as designed by Townsend, yet the car is further modernized through sharper lines and enhanced proportions. Inside, the dashboard is made from carbon fiber, stainless steel accents are crafted using 3D printing technology, and there are leather-pleats and machined brass door handles. The addition of Gentex auto-dimming visors and a complete camera system lends a Bond-inspired touch, reinforcing Ringbrothers’ philosophy: “What car would an MI6 agent drive during vacation?
