Ring like a truck: Country star Lainey Wilson and Devlin Hodges get engaged
As a film enthusiast, I can’t help but feel a thrill of excitement as I witness Lainey Wilson strolling with a hint of a limp, adorned by the dazzling brilliance of her brand-new diamond-studded ring. It’s like watching wildflowers bloom under the spotlight!
32-year-old nation music artist announced her engagement on Wednesday to ex-NFL player Devlin “Duck” Hodges, aged 28. On Instagram, she shared a collection of pictures and videos, in one of which she displayed her substantial engagement ring while standing before a brick structure. The caption of the post was the title of her love song “4x4xU,” a tune that the “Yellowstone” actor had dedicated to Hodges when it was released in October.
The spot where Hodges probably proposed was covered in red roses, candles, and framed photos. The ring box shaped like a small cowboy hat – a reference to Wilson’s frequent headwear – was used by Hodges for the proposal. The former athlete, who played for the Los Angeles Rams in 2021 and now works as a real estate agent specializing in land and recreational properties, is based in Memphis.

Music
After relocating to Nashville, Wilson lived in a 20-foot camper trailer for quite some time. Surprisingly, she’s now been nominated for six CMA awards, including categories for Song and Album of the Year.
On Thursday, neither Wilson nor Hodges’ representatives provided immediate comments following The Times’ request for a statement.
Wilson’s enthusiasm for a proposal is quite open, as evident by her joke about her potential engagement ring on the “Country Heat Weekly” podcast in September.
The Louisiana-born singer expressed, “I don’t mind if it’s round or square, but I need to hobble along as if injured,” she said. “Duck is reacting with surprise, ‘Oh my, oh my, oh my.’ Better find some money for you, darling!
It’s been reported that the individual who won a Grammy Award and was once a quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers has been in a relationship since 2021. They made their romance known to the public in May 2023, when they attended the Academy of Country Music Awards together.

Awards
The song she co-wrote for the movie, titled ‘Out of Oklahoma,’ captures the feeling of a lengthy road trip across an expansive, unending landscape, mirroring the main character’s voyage.
Wilson recently explained that she didn’t really write love songs until she met Hodges.
You see, I pen stories that resonate with my experiences, and at long last, I’ve discovered a character deserving of my words. So, you might have thought, ‘Wow, she doesn’t have it in her,’ but trust me, I do,” I shared during a Nashville performance last summer. “I’ve found myself a supporter, my very own cheerleader.
Following Wilson’s announcement in January about her upcoming world tour for her Grammy-nominated country album “Whirlwind,” the couple has recently announced their engagement. This tour begins in Zurich on March 4, with stops at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento on Aug. 22 and the Kia Forum in Inglewood on Aug. 23.
