Rihanna Supports A$AP Rocky in Assault Trial

Rihanna looked sharp as she exited a Los Angeles court with beau A$AP Rocky on Thursday.

36-year-old entrepreneur and former singer, clad in a trench coat and tan boots, departed from the courthouse accompanied by a security guard.

On Thursday, she made her fourth public appearance standing by her long-term partner, who is 36 years old, and together they have two sons named RZA (age 2) and Riot (age 1).

As reported by TMZ, the Barbadian singer has been trying to stay out of the spotlight while regularly attending the ongoing events.

Rapper A$AP, whose real name is Rakim Athelaston Mayers, is currently facing charges for the alleged shooting of his ex-friend A$AP Relli in the year 2021.

A rap artist from New York City is facing two charges of assault using a semi-automatic firearm, and he has entered a plea of innocence.

According to reports, Rihanna was spotted sitting next to Mayer’s mom and sister in the front section of the courtroom during the entire trial, with a number of security personnel stationed nearby.

She’s been by Rakim’s side ever since his first arrest in April 2022, an incident that occurred as they were coming back from a holiday in Barbados at LAX.

On November 6, 2021, it’s claimed that Mayers brandished a firearm at his ex-friend in an argument, firing shots and causing him only slight wounds.

In a confrontation on November 6, 2021, it’s said that Mayers pulled out a gun and fired at his old friend, resulting in minor injuries.

At a previous court hearing, A$AP Relli (whose real name is Terell Ephron) stated that he pointed a gun at Mayers, threatening him by saying “I’ll kill you immediately,” and then fired at least four bullets.

Reports suggest that a shot may have struck Ephron’s hand, and it is said that he reported this shooting incident the next day.

At the spot where the alleged shooting occurred, Ephron retrieved two empty 9mm cartridges upon his return. Yet, the police state that the firearm which Mayers supposedly used has not been located.

Earlier this month, A$AP Rocky politely turned down a plea bargain, which would have resulted in him serving only six months in prison along with a seven-year suspended sentence and three years of probation.

Previously, Ephron and Mayers were close friends and joint project partners. They developed their friendship during their teenage years while studying at the same high school in New York City.

They belonged to the A$AP collective, a band of pupils who collaborated on music and art projects. Known as A$AP Mob, short for ‘Always Strive And Prosper,’ this group was founded in 2005, with Rocky becoming a member in 2007.

As Mayers’ fame expanded, Ephron noted that their friendship persisted. However, it started to wane when the music artist associated with D.M.B., who was becoming less reliable in business agreements.

During the pretrial hearings held in November, Mayers’ legal team endeavored to prevent a trial by contesting the admissibility of surveillance footage showing the rapper carrying a firearm as evidence.

Prosecutors claim the video showed Mayers firing the weapon, which the rapper’s attorneys denied.

During a previous court case, Detective Frank Flores from the LAPD stated that surveillance footage indicated a firearm in the rapper’s possession. However, under questioning from the defense, he admitted no gun was found or retrieved.
