Rihanna Set to Make Glastonbury Debut Amid Plans for Exclusive London Residency!
It’s being speculated that Rihanna could make her debut as the headliner at Glastonbury, given whispers of her planning a London-based residency.
Although there have been rumors for numerous years, the Barbadian artist, who is now 37, has not taken the stage at the globally acclaimed festival held in Worthy Farm, Somerset, thus far.
Currently, there’s talk about her being a strong candidate for the main act at Glastonbury, given the massive impact of her 2023 Super Bowl Half-time performance.
It’s been suggested that she might play at the festival, as rumors hint at her scheduling a London residency after those dates.
As reported by The Telegraph, it appears that Rihanna is planning a six-show engagement at the London Stadium, which was previously known as the Olympic Stadium.
According to a reliable music source, it appears that there are two shows scheduled for the 4th and 5th of July, and additional potential concerts might occur on the 8th, 9th, 11th, and 12th of July.
Another source informed the publication that plans are being made for Rihanna to perform at London Stadium, as it appears her promoters have reserved the venue for her upcoming event.
Rihanna’s upcoming concert series will mark her return to the stage after nearly a decade, beginning only five days following the conclusion of Glastonbury on June 29th.
Daily Mail has contacted Glastonbury and Rihanna’s representatives for comment.
The complete lineup for Glastonbury Festival is still a secret, but it was confirmed last month that Neil Young will be the main act on the Pyramid Stage.
Besides Rod Stewart, it’s anticipated that other artists such as Olivia Rodrigo, Fred Again, and The 1975 might also make an appearance in the Sunday Legends Spot.
The announcement that Neil is scheduled to perform follows his initial refusal of an invitation to participate, along with accusations that the festival was allegedly under the influence of BBC corporate management.
In a public message on the Neil Young Archives, he mentioned his anticipation for performing at Glastonbury alongside Chrome Hearts, which is among his most cherished outdoor concerts.
The information given was that the BBC had become a collaborator at Glastonbury, suggesting numerous approaches that didn’t appeal to us. This new setup of Glastonbury appears to be more corporately managed, and it no longer resembles the fond memories I have of it.

On this tour, we won’t be performing at Glastonbury due to its corporate nature, which doesn’t resonate with me as it once did. I look forward to seeing you at one of the other stops on our tour instead.
Following my surprising New Year’s Day announcement, I must clarify that only a few days later, I indeed decided to perform with my fresh live band, The Chrome Hearts.
Because of a mistake in the details sent to me, I chose not to perform at the beloved Glastonbury Festival this time around.
It’s great news that the festival has been added to our plans again! We can hardly wait to perform. Looking forward to your presence there.
For quite some time now, the BBC has been broadcasting performances from music festivals on their multiple TV and radio networks.
In 2009, Neil’s last show at Glastonbury was aired on BBC, however, his entire performance wasn’t shown because his management raised objections to it.
In light of criticisms from his supporters, the BBC acknowledged that over the past few months, they have been in discussions with his management team regarding the extent of his performance they could air.
‘Neil Young’s career has been conducted on his own terms,’ the broadcaster said at the time.
Neil’s supervisors consented to air five songs during his performance, as they observed and heard him play. They value the authenticity of live events and preserving an aura of enigma around their artist.
