Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s Somber Dinner After Court Drama: What Happened?

On Thursday evening in Beverly Hills, I, a devoted follower, found myself stepping out for dinner, having endured a lengthy day in court alongside Rihanna and her partner A$AP Rocky. Both of them seemed weary, reflecting the toll of the day’s events.

After an exhausting day of testimonies, Rihanna and her 4-year partner preferred to stay out of the limelight while having dinner, with their security detail in tow.

36-year-old Grammy winner, present during Rocky’s trial, donned a solemn black jacket paired with a long, high-collared white blouse.

She had her hair swept to one side, neatly combed straight, and seemed to have minimal makeup, framed by her dark-rimmed spectacles. She adorned herself modestly, just wearing a set of big hoop earrings.

Rocky, aged thirty-six, opted for a sleek black suit paired with a crisp white dress shirt, and accessorized with stylish dark shades for his excursion.

If found guilty on two charges of assault using a semi-automatic firearm, Rocky (born Rakim Mayers) could potentially spend 24 years behind bars.

Rapper Praise the Lord, also known by his real name Daytona Bennett, is being charged with shooting at A$AP Relli, whose given name is Terell Ephron, a former high school friend. In 2021, outside a hotel in Los Angeles, Relli claimed that during an argument, Bennett allegedly discharged a firearm at him.

According to the Associated Press, during his testimony, Relli asserted that some details in his account might have evolved over the past three years since the supposed event, yet he maintains that he is certain about what transpired.

In a straightforward manner, Rocky’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, noted the differences between Relli’s courtroom testimony on Thursday and his 2022 interview with the prosecution, highlighting these inconsistencies.

During his first conversation with prosecutors, Relli stated that Rocky had pushed a gun against his abdomen, yet he couldn’t recall exactly what his old acquaintance had said to him.

During the testimony, Relli asserted that the gun was aimed at both his abdomen and head, and Rocky declared his intention to end Relli’s life.

He informed the court that a firearm had been brandished against him, and it was later discharged. Later on, he remarked to the jury, “Three years have passed. If he were innocent, he would have returned home much earlier.” This was said at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center in downtown Los Angeles.

During once tense moment, Relli shouted to Rocky ‘You did this to yourself!’

When the judge admonished him, Relli responded, ‘He was staring at me!’

As I delved into the heart of the matter while cross-examining the witness, a significant portion of my inquiry revolved around understanding Relli’s emotional stance towards his former friend. I probed him with text messages exchanged between them, bringing to light a heated message where Relli accused Rocky of failing to back one of his ventures.

In a different account, it was stated that Relli threatened to physically harm Rocky unless he arranged for their common friend’s body to be transported back to New York. Later on, it was discovered that Rocky indeed fulfilled this obligation.

Prior to the event on November 6, 2021, Tacopino inquired about two messages that conveyed a hostile attitude. One message read, “You’ve got all these fake animosity towards me laughing out loud, beat me up,” and another said, “I hope you would.

‘That doesn’t mean ‘bring a gun,’ Relli said.

When questioned about deleting messages prior to giving his phone to LAPD, the rapper explained that he wasn’t aware of why he had made that decision.

In their argument, it has been stated by Rocky’s legal team that the firearm involved was actually a starting pistol, designed to discharge only blanks, which the artist known as Am I Dreaming had for use as a prop.

On the initial day of the trial, prosecutors presented security camera recordings. One video showed Rocky brandishing a firearm, while another seemed to contain sounds resembling gunfire. However, neither video explicitly depicted the alleged incident of shooting.

Instead of going to trial, Rocky opted not to admit guilt for one count of assault using a semi-automatic weapon, which would result in a 180-day prison sentence. However, he chose not to do so.

He and Rihanna are the parents of two sons, RZA, two, and Riot, 17 months.
