Ridley Scott’s Horror Series The Horror the Devil in Silver Is Officially 1 of the Most Popular Shows on Streaming

The horror anthology series, executive produced by Ridley Scott, is back after a seven-year hiatus and is already proving popular with streaming viewers.

The show first aired in 2018 and was immediately praised by critics. While Season 2, called Infamy, also received good reviews, it was difficult to replicate the initial success. After a considerable wait, Season 3, The Terror: The Devil in Silver, has made a powerful comeback and is now a popular streaming series, according to FlixPatrol.

I was so excited when it came out, and it immediately shot to number one! Even three days later, it’s still at the top, beating out shows and movies like 2026’s Whistle, HBO’s Tales From the Crypt, The Audacity, and even I Am Legend. It’s incredible!

What Happens in The Terror: Devil in Silver?

Each season of this horror anthology tells a completely new story, and Season 3 continues that trend. This six-episode series brings back Scott as an executive producer and introduces writers and showrunners Chris Cantwell (known for Halt and Catch Fire) and Victor LaValle (The Changeling), whose novel served as the basis for this season’s storyline.

I just finished watching The Terror: Devil in Silver, and it’s a really unsettling film. It centers around a guy named Pepper, a working-class mover, who gets caught in a terrible situation. Through a string of unfortunate events and his own fiery temper, he’s mistakenly committed to New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital – a place where society seems to just dump people they’d rather not deal with. It’s a bleak and disturbing setup, and I’m already hooked to see where it goes.

He’ll face difficult patients, doctors hiding dark truths, and possibly even the Devil himself. As Pepper tries to survive in this deceptive and nightmarish place, he discovers that the only way to escape is to confront the force feeding off the pain within New Hyde’s walls—a confrontation that might reveal his own inner demons are the most dangerous of all.

The cast of The Terror: Devil in Silver includes Dan Stevens, known for his roles in Godzilla vs Kong, and Aasif Mandvi, who has appeared in Evil and This Way Up. Other stars are John Benjamin Hickey (The Big C, Lilly), Stephen Root (Barry, Heads of State), Michael Aronov (The Americans, Operation Finale), Marin Ireland (Sneaky Pete, Glass Chin), Chinaza Uche (Silo, A Good Person), Hampton Fluker (Shades of Blue, Instant Family), b (WeCrashed, You), Hayward Leach (Tom Swift, Love Life), and Philip Ettinger (First Reformed, I Know This Much Is True).

The Terror: Devil in Silver Set a New Rotten Tomatoes Record

The horror anthology series has been very well-received. The first season earned a ‘Certified Fresh’ rating with 94% approval from critics and 89% from viewers. The second season, titled Infamy, received a slightly lower ‘Certified Fresh’ score of 80% from critics and 65% from the audience.

Season 3 initially received incredibly positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, earning a near-perfect score. While the score has slightly decreased, it remains very high at 95% based on 20 reviews. Currently, there isn’t an audience rating available.

The Terror: Devil in Silver releases new episodes every Thursday on AMC and AMC+.
