Ride Kamens is shutting down this October 31, after just a year of service in Japan

Story Highlights

  • Ride Kamens is a turn-based action spin-off of the Kamen Rider series by Shotaro Ishinomori.
  • An offline version will be available to keep playing some features, with data transfer open until October 31.
  • You can request refunds for your paid diamonds until January 30, 2026.

Bandai Namco has declared that the mobile game titled “Ride Kamens” will be discontinued as of October 31st, 20xx (in Japan) for both Android and iOS devices. Developed by Liber Entertainment, this action title is inspired by the popular franchise “Kamen Rider”. Initially teased in February 2024 along with iOS pre-registrations, the game was first announced to the public at that time.

Ride Kamens will be closing as the devs redirect their focus and resources towards new projects

In simple terms, “Ride Kamens” is a game where you take turns to engage in action, and it’s a side-story from the popular Kamen Rider series created by Shotaro Ishinomori. The setting is Rainbow City, and you assume the role of an Agent. The unique narrative for this game was penned by Yuya Takahashi. You can interact with city residents, craft your own tales with the Kamen Riders, and fight adversaries using special abilities.

Unfortunately, the Ride Kamens Management Team announced through X that they will be shutting down the game on October 31st. They explained their decision by saying, “We have chosen to redirect our resources towards new ventures and challenges so we can offer content and experiences that cater to a wider range of enjoyment.

Players can still experience the game with the upcoming Offline version

After the recent announcement, the game has ceased selling paid diamonds and shop items. Nevertheless, you can continue playing the game up until its end date, and you’ll still be able to use previously purchased items and any unused gacha tickets, as long as they haven’t expired yet. From October 31st, 2021, until January 30th, 2026, refund requests for purchased items will be accepted.

Great news! An offline version of the game is coming so you can still enjoy it and certain features once service ends. You have until October 31st to transfer your data, then after a maintenance update, you’ll be able to play the Kamens Ride Offline Edition by simply updating the version.

It’s pleasing to possess an offline option, but it’s still disheartening to see the game conclude so swiftly following its release on May 30 last year. Yet, many enthusiasts weren’t taken aback by this outcome, with some criticizing that it underperformed due to being marketed towards women even though it was based on Kamen Rider, overlooking the original fanbase.
