According to a ScreenRant review by Ben Gibbons, the popular Adult Swim show Rick and Morty is currently at its best. Gibbons highlights the show’s continued innovation and notes that the animation quality is noticeably improved, appearing smoother than in previous seasons.
I really loved the performances from the Rick and Morty cast, but the review did mention one small thing: sometimes the story felt a little slow. Honestly, though, it was a tiny criticism in what was otherwise a really great review, and didn’t bother me much!
Cheryl Eddy from io9.com also highly praised the show, particularly the acting and how well Season 9 combines comedy with the serious side of Rick’s personality. Nick Valdez of Comicbook.com agreed, stating that this is the best season of Rick and Morty in years.
Now seems like a great time for Warner Bros. to be making a Rick and Morty movie. Jacob Hair, who has worked on the franchise before, will direct, though details about the story are still secret. Given the positive response to season 9, it looks like series co-creator Dan Harmon has found the perfect opportunity to expand his popular and constantly changing sci-fi world.
Rick and Morty season 9 premieres on Adult Swim on Sunday, May 24, at 11 PM.
