The show remains popular even thirteen years after it first aired on Adult Swim. The most recent season received a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and its new spin-off has done the same – a very rare accomplishment!
Before it even airs, the President Curtis spinoff is getting rave reviews! It currently has a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, just like Season 9 of Rick and Morty. Rick and Morty has consistently earned high ratings throughout its history, and so far, President Curtis seems to be continuing that trend. The score could change as more reviews come in after the show officially premieres on July 26th, but early signs suggest it’s a worthy addition to the franchise.
Franchise Fans Will Appreciate President Curtis
ScreenAnarchy’s Peter Martin described President Curtis as hilariously absurd and delightfully ridiculous, packed with rapid-fire jokes and funny visual humor – exactly what you’d expect from a show connected to Rick and Morty. He called it a consistently funny series.
Cheryl Eddy from io9 complimented the show’s main voice actor, saying his performance adds weight to the character’s speeches as president, making even silly announcements sound convincing.
According to an AV Club review by Erik Adams, President Curtis is compelling because it focuses on a man—despite his important position—and the people around him who are simply trying to live normal lives given their unique talents and unusual careers. This combination makes the show funny, believable, and very enjoyable.

President Curtis Is Rick and Morty Meets The X-Files
Created by Dan Harmon and James Siciliano, who also work on Rick and Morty, this new show features Keith David as President Andre Curtis. Stephanie Beatriz (Twisted Metal) and Jim Rash (Community) also star. The series follows President Curtis and his team as they look into strange and unexplainable events. Because it takes place in the same universe as Rick and Morty, fans can expect to see some familiar faces appear.
The new show President Curtis premieres July 26th at 11:30 PM Eastern and Pacific time, immediately following the season nine finale of Rick and Morty on Adult Swim. Episodes will then be available to stream on HBO Max starting the next day.
