Richard Osman teases Thursday Murder Club movie release window

As a devoted fan of Richard Osman and his captivating works, I can hardly contain my excitement as the renowned gameshow host has given us a tantalizing glimpse into the future of The Thursday Murder Club movie. With a powerhouse cast led by the inimitable Helen Mirren and Sir Ben Kingsley, this cinematic adaptation is already shaping up to be a masterpiece.

Richard Osman has teased a release window for The Thursday Murder Club movie.

Over the weekend, the host of both the game show and podcast made an appearance on Saturday Kitchen. During his visit, he discussed his recently published book titled We Solve Murders, and provided some insights about the upcoming movie adaption based on his first novel.

In conversation with host Matt Tebbutt, Osman shared that while he doesn’t have a specific release date pinned down, he does have a general idea about the timeline.

Chris Columbus is currently working on it, so I expect it will be released next year. First in theaters, followed by streaming on Netflix immediately afterward.

“So I would think next summer, next autumn? I would guess, but I don’t know for sure.”

In addition, Osman mentioned that he aims to release the fifth installment in the Thursday Murder Club series during the following spring, assuming all goes smoothly.

He’s already started writing the book, which he said will contain a little meta in-joke about the Thursday Murder Club movie.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but get excited about “The Thursday Murder Club”! This intriguing production boasts an impressive ensemble, featuring none other than the remarkable Helen Mirren and the esteemed Sir Ben Kingsley. To top it off, the one and only Steven Spielberg graced us with his producer hat!

Osman reminisced about the time when the director of both “Jaws” and “West Side Story” came to the set, leaving him utterly awestruck.

He described an extraordinary aura about the person, saying, “It felt like we were in the presence of someone truly exceptional. You meet certain individuals and think, ‘Wow, you’re Steven Spielberg!’ Even the other actors seemed thrilled to be near him.

In summary, Osman shared that he managed to express his gratitude towards the end by saying, “Thank you for all that you do and the happiness you’ve spread around the world.” He felt that this single expression of appreciation was sufficient, and no further words were needed since he had already expressed his thanks.

Reflecting on all the laughter, the emotions he sparked, the tales he shared, and the times we cried – moments that are uniquely his – it’s heartwarming to have the opportunity to greet him, extend a handshake, and express our gratitude.

The Thursday Murder Club movie will be released next year in cinemas before hitting Netflix.
