Richard Osman rushed to hospital with ‘unbelievable pain’
Richard Osman shared that he recently found himself in a hospital due to extreme, hard-to-believe discomfort upon waking up.
In a fresh installment of his “The Rest Is Entertainment” podcast, the writer of “The Thursday Murder Club” revealed that he was admitted to Charing Cross Hospital for an operation following the discovery of a kidney stone by medical professionals.
He shared, “This past week has been quite challenging for me. One night, I experienced intense discomfort and realized I was suffering from a kidney stone.
As a connoisseur of discomfort, nothing has struck me quite like this experience. Even though the physicians persistently compared it to labor pains, I find myself questioning their assertion, for I remain unconvinced.
Osman found the experience to be incredibly agonizing, but later expressed gratitude towards everyone at Charing Cross Hospital for their exceptional care.
He mentioned that he had been administered liquid morphine, but it seemed to have no effect on him. Later, he underwent a surgical operation and they removed the morphine. Now, he is delighted because he no longer experiences any pain.
As a gaming enthusiast and an avid reader, I can’t help but share some exciting news! It’s officially confirmed that the much-anticipated big-screen adaptation of Osman’s 2020 book “The Thursday Murder Club” will be hitting Netflix screens near you later this year. Can’t wait to dive into the mystery and suspense!
Although the exact release date is yet to be announced, Osman had earlier speculated that the movie might come out sometime during the summer or fall seasons.
In a movie directed by Chris Columbus, we’ll see a band of retirees living in a home who enjoy solving mysteries as a pastime. However, they unwittingly stumble upon a genuine crime scenario instead.
In the main roles, we have Helen Mirren, Celia Imrie, Pierce Brosnan, and Ben Kingsley. Joining them in secondary roles are David Tennant, Naomi Ackie, Jonathan Pryce, Danny Mays, and Henry Lloyd-Hughes.
The Thursday Murder Club is expected to premiere on Netflix in 2025.
