Richard Madeley reveals he was dropped from “big entertainment show”
As a long-time viewer of Good Morning Britain, I have to say that Richard Madeley’s story about being axed from an entertainment show really resonates with me. It seems like a rite of passage for any TV personality! I mean, who doesn’t love a good behind-the-scenes drama?
Richard Madeley has revealed that he was once axed from an entertainment show, (via Metro).
On “Good Morning Britain,” the presenter broke the news while engaging in an interview with actor David Harewood, who was there with Susanna Reid.
The celebrity was questioned regarding a post on his social media platform (X or Twitter), where he disclosed that a role he was given a promise for, ended up being canceled just before it started.
Afterwards, Madeley clarified his reason for introducing the topic of dismissals, confessing that he had gone through a comparable incident himself.
He shared that a remarkably similar incident occurred in his past, and he mentioned this since he recently participated in a trial run for a huge, brand-new entertainment program, where he was informed the performance was satisfactory.
As a gamer, I was all hyped up when they announced that our project had been greenlit, and we managed to create a killer pilot. We even scored a full season of 30 episodes, only for them to pass the torch to someone else! So, here we are… back at the drawing board.
In a show of empathy, Harewood comforted Madeley by saying, “Did they go somewhere else, Richard? I just can’t believe it, given that you’re a celebrity!” He laughed jovially.
In another place, Good Morning Britain host Kate Garraway recently marked a heartwarming achievement with her daughter Darcey. “In the blink of an eye, she was gone! The little vulnerable infant we brought home from the hospital 18 years ago is off to college!” Garraway posted on Instagram.
What a deeply moving experience on countless dimensions! The silence here is deafening, but Darcey, I couldn’t be more proud of you embarking on this fresh journey in your life. I know your dad is right there with you every step of the way.
Good Morning Britain airs live from 6am weekdays on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player.
