Richard Gere’s Rare Family Moment: A Glimpse of His Kids with Alejandra Silva!

On a delightful Friday, Richard Gere shared an uncommon sight of his youngest sons, captured alongside his spouse Alejandra Silva in a heartwarming photograph.

75-year-old actor from Pretty Woman, now residing in Spain (his wife’s homeland), was spotted outside with his loved ones, simultaneously advocating for the charitable group Open Arms.

In 2018, the celebrity married a Spanish activist, and they have two boys together – Alexander, who is six years old, and James, aged five.

Gere, Silva, and their two sons all wore identical gray hoodies, turning their backs to the camera to exhibit the design on the backside of the sweatshirts.

Gere, together with Silva and their boys, put on gray hooded jackets that were a perfect match; they faced away from the camera to show off the graphics at the back of the garments.

Lastly:
In unison, Gere, Silva, and their two sons slipped into identical gray hoodies. To display the design on the back, they intentionally turned their backs towards the camera.

Richard expressed his family’s support for @openarms_fund and their life-saving mission in the post caption, adding a heartfelt message: ‘Our family stands proudly behind @alejandragere and the important work of @openarms_fund. ♥️’

According to their official site, the Open Arms Foundation offers a place that feels like home free of charge to individuals needing to travel for medical care.

For several years, Richard has dedicated his time to the charity’s work. In fact, as far back as 2019, he was spotted aboard an Open Arms rescue ship sailing on the Mediterranean Sea.

He helped bring supplies to the 121 migrants on board who at the time, had fled war-torn Libya.  

In a previous conversation with The Guardian, I shared my thoughts on choosing to hop aboard that vessel and lend a helping hand – a decision I’ve never regretted.

He shared that Open Arms has inspired him profoundly, and he wholeheartedly embraces their perspective on the cosmos.

In appearance, the scene looks like a picture-perfect family moment, yet it accurately portrays his qualities as an excellent father. However, it is important to note that he does not handle the cooking duties; instead, I am the one who prepares the meals. Yet, when I’m busy cooking, he delightfully strums the guitar.

Just recently, I shared with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show why my family and I decided to move base to my wife’s homeland towards the end of last year in November. This lifestyle change is a reflection of our personal preferences and a new chapter in our journey.

My spouse hails from Spain, and she has been here for approximately seven years. Consequently, we plan on spending a few years in Madrid with her relatives.

The star informed the late-night talk show host that their children are fluent in two languages, implying they will thrive in that environment.

Back in March, Silva honored Richard on the occasion of his very first Spanish Father’s Day celebration.

she posted a lovely picture while the actor was conversing with their three smallest children, writing as a caption: ‘Celebrating the first Spanish Father’s Day for the world’s finest father.’

It emerged last month in April that the couple and their kids are intending to go back to the United States.

At the City Harvest’s 2025 Gala, Alejandra broke the major announcement during an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com.

‘For a few years [we’ll live in Spain], and then come back. But we’re always coming back.’

The activist mentioned, “We plan to return during summer as we have the children at a summer camp. It’s all about managing our lives both there and here.

‘I’m with my family … I missed them a lot. But I miss the U.S. So we come back and forth.’ 

Gere, too, continues to work on various projects, with a forthcoming romantic comedy named “The Making Of” among them.

The movie, currently being prepared for production, will also feature Blake Lively, Diane Keaton, and Lin-Manuel Miranda as part of the cast.
