As a seasoned film enthusiast who has been attending international film festivals for decades, I must say that this year’s Venice Film Festival lineup is nothing short of extraordinary. The star-studded cast and the highly anticipated premieres promise an unforgettable experience for all cinephiles.

The Venice Film Festival has hosted the premieres of some of the world’s greatest films.

Indeed, Richard Gere appeared more captivated by events unfolding beyond the theater, particularly his wife Alejandra Silva, who graced the red carpet on Sunday.

The Hollywood star, 75, appeared to be overcome by his 41-year-old wife’s beauty, stopping to bow down to her as they attended the premiere of Brad Pitt and George Clooney’s new AppleTV+ film, Wolfs.

He also couldn’t resist scooping Alejandra up for a kiss as they cosied up together.

Instead of merely playing around with his wife, Richard was also seen enjoying time with his son Homer. They both struck a number of charming poses in a collection of delightful photos taken at the red carpet event together.

At the Filming Italy Venice Award ceremony, both the actor and his 24-year-old son sported a similarly stylish appearance as they strolled down the red carpet.

Richard opted for a black tuxedo, white shirt and a black bow tie, with Homer matching his outfit.

Simultaneously, Alejandra, who tied the knot with the celebrity in 2018, captivated everyone in a striking, Grecian-inspired white dress featuring a high slit that reached her thigh.

Afterward, she switched to a semi-transparent mesh dress adorned with navy floral patterns when the threesome moved towards the amfAR gala.

After a two-year courtship, the legendary film figure tied the knot with Alejandra, and subsequently became parents to boys named Alexander, who is now five, and James, who just turned four.

Richard chose to bestow his son, named both after his grandfathers and given the middle name “Jigme,” upon his former spouse, actress Carey Lowell.

He and Carey married in 2002 but later separated in 2013 after 11 years of marriage.

The gala, taking place during Venice Film Festival, was presented by the Red Sea International Film Festival.

As a passionate advocate, I can’t help but express my unwavering admiration for amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research – an extraordinary global force in the fight against AIDS. This remarkable organization stands at the forefront of supporting groundbreaking research, championing HIV prevention, disseminating critical treatment education, and passionately advocating for those affected by this devastating disease.

Over the past 36 years, amfAR has managed to amass close to a billion dollars for its initiatives and granted over 3,800 research projects globally.

It hosts glitzy galas at Cannes and Venice Film Festivals.

Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice opened the Venice Film Festival on August 28.

2024 sees the 81st edition of the Venice International Film Festival, an event organized by La Biennale di Venezia, taking place on the Lido di Venezia from the 28th of August to the 7th of September.

Besides the Beetlejuice Beetlejuice cast, a host of high-profile celebrities are anticipated to arrive in Venice within the next few days.

George Clooney and his wife Amal have arrived in town, where they are now present as George’s eagerly awaited film “Wolfs” – a heist thriller directed by Jon Watts – makes its premiere. This movie marks a reunion for George with his co-star from Oceans 11, Brad Pitt.

Both George and Brad were in attendance at the September 1 screening.

Brad’s former spouse, Angelina Jolie, is likewise set to appear in Venice for the promotion of the movie titled Maria. In this production, she portrays the legendary opera figure, Maria Callas.

According to reports, the schedules have been carefully planned to ensure that the divorced pair, still involved in an ongoing legal battle for eight years, won’t attend the film festival simultaneously.

On September 4, another significant film premiering is “Joker: Folie à Deux”. This continuation of the story will see actors Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga gracing the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival.

At the upcoming festival, Daniel Craig will make an appearance to publicize his film titled “Queer,” set to screen on September 3.

Actors Julianne Moore and Tilda Swinton, frequent visitors to Venice, are currently there for the premiere of Pedro Almodóvar’s first English film titled “The Room Next Door.” Meanwhile, Nicole Kidman will be showing her erotic thriller “Babygirl” on August 30.

Pupi Avati’s The American Backyard will close the festival on September 7.
