Richard E Grant surprises fans at the Edinburgh Fringe as he arrives to support his old friend Miriam Margolyes at her sex-fuelled Shakespeare show
As an ardent fan with a deep appreciation for the rich tapestry of the acting world, I find myself utterly captivated by the heartwarming camaraderie displayed by the legendary Richard E Grant and the inimitable Miriam Margolyes. Their friendship, forged over two decades ago during the filming of Martin Scorsese’s Age of Innocence, continues to thrive today as they support each other through their artistic journeys.
During a visit to Scotland, the unexpected guest at the Edinburgh festival was Richard E Grant, who showed up to lend support to his longtime friend, Miriam Margolyes.
Miriam and Richard initially crossed paths while working on Martin Scorsese’s Oscar-winning movie, “The Age of Innocence,” which was released in 1993.
In the Edinburgh Fringe play, Margolyes & Dickens: The Best Bits, Miriam is participating. Overjoyed to catch up with her longtime friend Richard, she engaged in a lively Q&A session, discussing challenging costars, politics, and her most memorable romantic experiences. Following this entertaining event, they continued their conversation at the Pleasance EICC venue.
Afterward, Saltburn’s well-known figure Richard shared: “Today, I had the pleasure of witnessing my friend Miriam Margolyes in her exceptional production, ‘Dickens’ Women,’ presented by Fane Productions, right here in Edinburgh.”
In the last century, we collaborated on Martin Scorsese’s film “Age of Innocence” and have remained friends since then.
Additionally, Richard dropped by to meet the entire team of the all-female football series titled “I’m Not a Billy, He’s a Tim.”
Actress Rachel Ogilvy shared a photo on her social media, saying: ‘I met Richard E. Grant today! I’m smitten!’
For the past five days, Richard has been consistently present at the festival, having originally planned a trip to North Berwick for the Fringe By the Sea event.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I had the pleasure of dropping by the talented cast of the freshly minted comedy play, “Boardroom,” during their run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. To make the moment even more unforgettable, I shared a photo opportunity with none other than the brilliant writer and director, Cici Hughes, as well as the entire cast.
The abstaining actor with a sensitivity to alcohol, equally appreciated a frosty cup of coffee, as he arrived at the Mashhouse in Edinburgh to catch the Cold Brew comedy performance.
Actor Richard E. Grant, known for his role in “Withnail and I,” has teamed up with Billy Magnussen and Isaac Powell on location at the Leaderfoot Viaduct close to Melrose for the start of shooting a fresh HBO series titled “The Franchise.”
The Marvel satire is being directed by Oscar winner Sam Mendes and sees characters as superheroes.
Currently, many people recognize Miriam from her role as Professor Sprout in the Harry Potter movie adaptations.
Apart from this, she recently disclosed that she earned a substantial sum, approximately hundreds of thousands of pounds, by creating customized videos for her fans through the platform Cameo.
Not only did she achieve great success in theater, but her illustrious career spans decades. She graced the stage in productions like Wicked, and her journey began at the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival over five decades ago.
She joked: ‘I can’t remember what they were, but I was very good in both of them.’
