Richard Armitage’s forgotten disaster movie is now on Prime Video
As a long-time fan of Richard Armitage’s captivating acting prowess, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia when I hear about his lesser-known works like “Into the Storm.” Despite its mixed reviews and controversial found-footage style, it still offers a unique glimpse into Armitage’s versatile career.
The long-forgotten disaster film featuring Richard Armitage, titled “Into the Storm“, can now be streamed on Amazon Prime Video.
In 2014, the movie is said to have earned approximately $161.5 million, which was substantial given its production cost of $50 million. However, it wasn’t well-received critically.
According to Rotten Tomatoes, critical reviews account for just 21% (this percentage represents mostly favorable reviews, not an overall average), whereas the average rating given by fans is a more optimistic 45%.
If you’re interested in exploring an under-the-radar performance by an actor known for roles in both “Castlevania” and “The Hobbit”, and you have a subscription to Amazon Prime Video, you now have the opportunity to watch it without any additional fees.

The movie “Into the Storm” features not one but two actors known from the “Walking Dead” universe – Alycia Debnam-Carey and Sarah Wayne Callies.
Currently, Armitage has gained significant recognition for his performances in television series based on Harlan Coben’s works such as “The Stranger,” “Stay Close,” “Fool Me Once,” and the upcoming production titled “Missing You.
The actor recently explained why he feels like these shows have been so popular, stating: “Harlan Coben is the master of the sort of cliffhanger, and his books are page-turners that you can’t put down, and they adapt so brilliantly for television drama.
It seems to me that Netflix may have discovered their extensive library of content is incredibly versatile, allowing for numerous adaptations over a likely span of about ten years or more. Whether I’ll appear in every one of these productions remains uncertain – I don’t rule anything out entirely.
He also mentioned that he found it somewhat surprising, even “mad,” when the producers requested a third adaptation from him, and downright astonishing to consider a fourth.
Now, he’s involved in countless productions, and Armitage humorously refers to himself as the “fortune-bearing undergarments” or simply the “lucky charm” of the Coben TV series.
Into the Storm is available to stream now for Prime Video subscribers.
