Richard and Judy’s Spring Pub Lunch Sparks Comeback Buzz!

On a sunny Thursday afternoon, I couldn’t help but feel starstruck as I spotted my beloved duo, Richard and Judy Finnigan, savoring a delightful pub lunch outside!

Since 1986, the cherished pair has earned nationwide recognition, serving together as the charismatic hosts of their timeless program, affectionately known as Richard and Judy’s show.

And as temperatures heated up, the couple were seen heading out for the day in north London. 

The pair went for a drive in their VW Beetle convertible before stopping off to grabs some lunch.

Regardless of the sun shining, Judy donned a stylish pair of navy leaf-patterned wide-legged pants, a cozy knit sweater, and casually wore a fluffy coat slung across her shoulders.

She finished off her outfit with oversized sunglasses, two pendant necklaces, and a silver handbag.

Instead, Richard chose a timeless white T-shirt and a sleek pair of slim-fit jeans, complemented by a navy pullover. He finished the look with stylish brown lace-up boots.

This year, news emerged that the pair is planning a significant return, collaborating again after many years since their last shared project.

Though I’ve mostly taken a step back from center stage at this point, I continue to be a familiar figure on This Morning, and I’m proud to say that at 67 years old.

Now, after years apart professionally, the duo hints at an exciting new project together.

This dynamic twosome could potentially introduce their very own brand of undergarments, as they’ve already secured the rights to their name across multiple product categories such as scents, makeup, and beyond.

This week, the Intellectual Property Office published the application.

Back in 2000, the pair initially secured a trademark for ‘Richard and Judy’, and they recently renewed it towards the end of last year, setting the stage for their most recent entrepreneurial venture.

This daring action could potentially be a result of the memorable incident involving Judy’s unexpected exposure of her bra during the 2000 National Television Awards.

As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but echo the sentiments shared by a confidant, as reported by The Mirror: ‘Judy’s on-stage bra reveal might just be one of their most memorable moments, potentially sparking the idea that underwear could be a viable avenue for them. And judging by recent developments, it seems they still hold this notion dear.’

‘But it’s not the only product they’ll be able to put their name on and they could make a mint.’ 

Representatives for Richard and Judy have been contacted by TopMob for comment.

They initially encountered each other in the ’80s, both employed at ITV Granada Television. Their paths crossed again in marriage in 1986.

In their Channel 5 documentary titled “Our Best Bits – In Our Own Words,” Richard and Judy shared thoughts on their relationship during its broadcast this past summer.

They spoke about the first time they met at Granada and the initial chemistry between them.

When Judy got married to journalist David Henshaw, Richard was going through a divorce with his first wife Lynda.

At that point, Judy found herself as a bride to David Henshaw, the journalist, while Richard was navigating the complexities of separating from his initial spouse, Lynda.

Judy mentioned: “On your initial day here in the newsroom, I recall you donning a rather unusual sky-blue business suit… it gave quite an eccentric impression.

In simple terms, my role was to look after you, similar to how a parent guides a child. At the place we were, Grenada, they had an unusual tradition where a newcomer would be paired with someone experienced, and I was tasked with showing you the way, metaphorically being your mother in this context.

Reflecting upon the moment, I found myself startled by the sensation of two hands gently resting on the back of my neck. A soft, soothing voice echoed in my ears, saying, “I’m your mother.” As I spun around, there she was – a stunning blonde woman.

‘It seemed an off thing to say so I was like ”what??” So yeah she was my assigned mummy.’
