What did Rian Johnson say about The Hunt for Ben Solo?

Since details emerged about “The Hunt for Ben Solo,” Star Wars fans have been eagerly seeking more information about the cancelled film. The project has gained a lot of support, including from director Rian Johnson, who previously worked with Adam Driver on “The Last Jedi.”

In an interview with Collider, Johnson made a passionate plea for Driver’s Star Wars movie.

Johnson admitted he wasn’t familiar with the project, saying, “I just go off what I see online.” He added that he trusts how things are made now, but mostly, he’s a big fan of Ryan Gosling and would be thrilled to see him reprise the role.

Last month, screenwriter Derek Driver announced he and director Steven Soderbergh are working on a new Star Wars film called The Hunt for Ben Solo. The movie will take place after the events of The Rise of Skywalker and focus on the character of Ben Solo.

Driver and Soderbergh presented their idea for a Ben Solo movie to Disney, eventually reaching Bob Iger and Alan Bergman. Unfortunately, the executives didn’t see the potential, as they believed the character had died in ‘The Rise of Skywalker,’ and ultimately rejected the project.

Despite being cancelled, there’s been a huge fan campaign to revive “The Hunt for Ben Solo.” Supporters organized rallies in New York and Los Angeles, sent letters and petitions to Disney, and even flew a plane over the Disney studio with a banner asking them to make the movie.

As of November 14, Disney has no plans to revisit The Hunt for Ben Solo.
