RHOSLC star Lisa Barlow being sued AGAIN over Vida Tequila line after she and husband 'failed to pay back $400K loan'

As a dedicated follower of Real Housewives franchises, I’ve seen my fair share of drama and legal battles, but Lisa Barlow’s current situation takes the cake (or tequila shot, if you will). It seems that the serial entrepreneur, who’s known for her luxury taste and impressive Rolodex, is finding herself in a bit of a pickle with yet another lawsuit.

In a recent development, Lisa Barlow – a star on the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City – finds herself embroiled in another legal matter concerning her well-known Vida Tequila brand, just two months following a lawsuit filed by an old friend.

49-year-old Lisa and her husband, joint owner of Vida Tequila, John Barlow, are facing allegations that they have not repaid a $400,000 loan taken for the company, according to legal documents obtained by TMZ on Thursday.

DailyMail.com has reached out to Lisa for comment.

William M. McGeary alleges that his son was spoken to by an individual named John, who wanted to handle costs associated with procuring the necessary raw materials to meet Vida Tequila’s order demands.

According to the documentation, McGreary consented to lend the couple $400,000 via his trust, with the expectation of repayment by December 27th, 2023.

In my correspondence dated November 2023, I clearly communicated to Lisa and John that I anticipated the full settlement of our mutual debt by the end of December, as per the agreed-upon terms.

But McGreary claims in his suit that the married couple have yet to pay back the money loaned.

The new lawsuit comes just two months after Lisa was named in a lawsuit with Vida Tequila and her company Luxe Marketing over what a one-time friend says are a total of $410,842.36 in loans that were not paid back.

According to reports from TMZ in June, it was disclosed that Lisa is currently facing a lawsuit filed by Bart Carlson, an individual identified as a close acquaintance of the television personality.

According to legal documents, Carlson stated that the reality star from New York, who has resided in Utah for a long time, repeatedly requested financing from him, during the period spanning from May 2010 to February 2018, as her businesses grappled with severe financial struggles.

According to Carlson, since they’ve been friends for so long, there wasn’t any predetermined schedule for returning the borrowed money between him and Barlow.

Carlson informed the court that his continuous efforts to recover money from Barlow were unsuccessful, since she would consistently inform him that she couldn’t repay him for previous loans with her personal assets or funds associated with the companies concerned.

When asked about the lawsuit, I, as a lifestyle expert, confirmed my past friendship with Carlson. I also addressed his accusations regarding an outstanding debt between us.

As a devoted admirer, let me recount my dismay: Bart Carlson, who I once considered both a business associate in Park City’s culinary scene and a friend, has astonished me by asserting, nine years after our shared restaurant venture concluded, that I still owe him money. This revelation leaves me heartbroken.

Let me make this absolutely clear: There’s no truth to the assertion that I owe Bart or his business any money. I’m diligent about settling my bills and fulfilling my responsibilities, and I always have been. Furthermore, it’s important to note that Bart holds no stake in Luxe Marketing or Vida Tequila, nor has he ever invested in either company.

Barlow made it clear that he is eager for the truth to be revealed and plans to take action against Bart if his personal attack results in any harm to him or his companies.

In my own words, I take pride in being known as a ‘serial entrepreneur,’ a title that reflects my diverse business portfolio. Among the ventures I oversee are LUXE marketing, VIDA tequila, and most recently, a joint endeavor with my sons, Fresh Wolf.

The biography mentioned that some women found Barlow’s lavish lifestyle and high-end preferences to be off-putting during her time on the Bravo series, where she had conflicts with co-star Monica Garcia.

On her personal site, Reallisabarlow.com, Barlow characterizes herself as an accomplished entrepreneur who has built and operated a variety of ventures, ranging from high-end dining establishments to upscale spirits companies.

She mentioned that her marketing firm, LUXE, has a reputation in the entertainment world for getting things done effectively. This ranges from brokering ideal contracts for celebrities to crafting optimal settings and atmospheres for the debut of a new film or television program.

According to Barlow, she consistently represents the Vida Tequila brand faithfully, aiming to more accurately portray contemporary Mexico as ‘mature, sophisticated, and multi-layered.’

Last August, I freely shared with Utah Business some insights into the growth and prosperity of my businesses, proudly highlighting their impressive financial accomplishments.

In an article published by them, Barlow stated, “Luxe didn’t make much money during its first year, but that was just for the initial phase. I have a vast network in entertainment due to my time spent in Los Angeles and New York, which allowed our brand to be showcased at top-tier events.”

‘We create unique spaces. It’s experiential marketing – we created everything from big concerts to exclusive parties at mansions in Park City, New York and Los Angeles. By the next year, LUXE was a success in every capacity.’

In the piece, Barlow also stresses the importance of networking and maintaining business alliances.

In the realm of entrepreneurship, I’ve come to understand that successful relationships are about mutual exchange – a balance of giving and receiving. It’s not just about taking; it requires a combination of offering and accepting. Throughout my journey of creating and selling numerous brands, I am eager to carry on this path.

I contacted representatives from Bravo, Luxe Marketing, and Vida Tequila to request their perspective on the recent news story.
