A new cast member on The Real Housewives of New York City is defending herself after facing criticism shortly after joining the show.
Publicist Hailey Glassman is facing criticism after influencer Claudia Oshry accused her of online harassment dating back to 2017.
I’ve been following Oshry, or Girl With No Job, for a while now, and she recently shared some really upsetting screenshots. Apparently, Glassman, who’s now on a reality show, used to send her messages over the years making rude comments about her weight and even making fun of the way she talks. It’s awful, and she was right to share it, honestly.
Oshry, 31, claims that Glassman has been harassing her online, like a typical ‘internet troll,’ since 2017, and she shared examples of the messages as proof.
Okay, so there’s been a lot of talk, and I’m getting a lot of questions about this situation with Glassman and Oshry. Let me clear things up: Glassman isn’t claiming she was intentionally trying to upset anyone. Her team explained to me that she was simply responding to Oshry’s posts – you know, interacting with content that was already out there and designed to get a reaction. It wasn’t about ‘trolling,’ they say, but just normal engagement with what Oshry was putting out there.
Scathingly, she stressed she stood by her criticism of Oshry’s voice.
A spokesperson for Glassman told The Daily Mail that it’s disappointing the influencer would criticize her, especially considering the influencer previously apologized for bullying and racist remarks that led to the cancellation of her podcast in 2018 after old anti-Muslim tweets came to light.
The representative clarified that Hailey wasn’t trying to cause trouble; she was just responding to Claudia’s intentionally attention-grabbing posts.
Ms. Glassman reacted well to the posts, even offering a kind congratulations on her child’s birth. She also wisely advised being considerate of younger followers when it appeared the poster wasn’t being truthful about using weight loss drugs – a valid and important concern.
Ms. Glassman, whose father is a well-known plastic surgeon, gave cosmetic surgery advice to an influencer who frequently discusses her weight online.
It doesn’t look good for Ms. Glassman to bully others and then try to act like she’s the one being mistreated, especially considering she’s had to apologize for bullying in the past. She really should feel ashamed.
Ms. Glassman champions inclusivity and believes everyone deserves respect. She celebrates the beauty of all women, regardless of their shape or size, and emphasizes that true attractiveness lies in authenticity and treating all people with respect.
‘With that said Hailey stands by her comment regarding her distaste for Claudia’s voice.’
On Monday, Oshry shared screenshots of private messages she claims Glassman sent her over the past decade.
The very first message Ari Glassman sent to Olivia Oshry was a reply to one of her stories. He reportedly wrote, ‘Omg, your voice is so annoying,’ and compared it to the character Janice from the TV show Friends.
Glassman also sent Oshry messages about her weight, once commenting, ‘You were so thin!’ in response to an Instagram Story she posted.
Oshry told her followers that Glassman is overly focused on her weight, and then shared screenshots of messages he supposedly sent.
Glassman called Oshry ‘Skinny Minnie’ and then suggested she be more open about how she lost weight.
Glassman told Oshry that while she looked fantastic, she needed to disclose that she was using Wegovy, as an influencer should be transparent with her audience. Glassman also offered to connect Oshry with a plastic surgeon in New York for potential skin tightening, noting Oshry had lost a significant amount of weight. Oshry clarified that she was actually using Ozempic instead of Wegovy.
In a subsequent message, Glassman jokingly referred to her as ‘the incredibly shrinking woman’ and added an applause emoji. He then promised to provide a neck lift for her in her thirties, referencing his practice, Glassman Plastic Surgery.
Glassman reportedly commented to Oshry about how surprisingly thin she was while pregnant, even thinner than she was two years prior. He jokingly called her a ‘magician’ and congratulated her on becoming a mother.
Glassman also reportedly made fun of Oshry’s husband, Ben Soffer, commenting ‘#DadBod lol’ on a photo Oshry shared of him shirtless.
The online discussion wasn’t just about Oshry’s looks; Glassman also publicly congratulated her when she revealed she was pregnant.
‘Mazel tov!’ Glassman wrote, followed by another post wishing her a Happy Mother’s Day.
Glassman works in public relations. Her father, Dr. Lawrence Glassman, is a plastic surgeon who performed a tummy tuck on Kate after she had sextuplets.
She also previously dated Jon & Kate Plus 8 star Jon Gosselin.
