Meghan King, who used to be on The Real Housewives of Orange County, posted a puzzling message on social media after a court decision gave her ex-husband, Jim Edmonds, custody of their three children.
On Sunday, the 41-year-old reality TV personality, who also works in real estate in Ladue, Missouri, shared a picture on her Instagram Story of a bumper sticker that said, ‘Big fan of human rights.’
She tagged her location as Kirkwood, Missouri, just outside her hometown of St. Louis.
Just a day later, King posted a sweet birthday message for her oldest daughter, Aspen, who celebrated her ninth birthday.
Today marks nine wonderful years since my greatest joy, Aspen King Edmonds, was born. She’s a true gift, and becoming her mother taught me the meaning of love. I love her more than words can say – she’s my absolute favorite person in the world!
Along with his son Aspen, King also shares seven-year-old twin sons, Hart and Hayes, with Edmonds, who is 55. The pair separated in 2019 following a five-year marriage.
She recently shared emotional messages online shortly after news broke that she briefly lost custody of her children due to a Child Protective Services investigation.
According to a source speaking to Page Six, King reportedly gave Hayes prescription drugs that weren’t meant for him several times.
According to a source, the woman gave Hayes Ritalin, a medication for ADHD, even though he had never been diagnosed with the condition.
According to Us Weekly, child protective services got involved after someone at the children’s school contacted them. This happened after King reportedly asked the school nurse to give medication to Hayes.
According to Page Six, when Child Protective Services reached out to Dave Edmonds, he and his wife, Kortnie, were in Tennessee. They quickly flew back to Missouri to be with their children.
Currently, Edmonds has full custody of the children, but King is allowed to visit them twice a week with supervision. A temporary order is in place, and a court will decide on December 9th if this custody arrangement will continue long-term.
The Daily Mail has asked for a statement from King’s team, but they haven’t received one yet. Edmonds’ spokesperson also chose not to make a comment.
Kelly Dodd, who used to be on The Real Housewives of Orange County, seemed to verify the news in a TikTok video she posted on Thursday, saying she had talked to King after the reports came out.
Dodd shared that Meghan King Edmonds told her she accidentally gave her twin son, Hayes, Ritalin, which Edmonds felt made her a bad mother.
Despite acknowledging past conflicts, Dodd defended King, calling her a devoted parent.
Despite our disagreements, she truly loves her children and is a wonderful mother, I can say that with certainty. She’s a fantastic mother.
Dodd shared that she’s been praying for her former colleague and asked her followers to join her in sending positive thoughts, writing in a post, ‘Pray for Meghann… She lost custody of her children! #prayers #losingcustodyoftheirkids.’
As a longtime follower of both of them, it’s really sad to see things escalate between King and Edmonds like this. It’s gotten to the point where they’re now battling over custody, and honestly, it doesn’t surprise me. There’s been a lot of public drama – I even heard the police had to get involved earlier this year when King wouldn’t leave Edmonds’ place. It’s just a really messy situation.
King and Edmonds got married in 2014 and divorced in 2021. Shortly after, in 2022, Edmonds married Kortnie O’Connor, a former Playboy model, just two months after his divorce was completed.
The former couple has disagreed publicly about their son Hart’s health. King has said Hart has cerebral palsy, but Edmonds believes he has periventricular leukomalacia (PVL), a condition that affects brain tissue.
King was briefly married to lawyer Cuffe Biden Owens, nephew of President Joe Biden, in 2021.
The marriage ended just two months later and was annulled in July 2022.
