RHOC star Heather Dubrow addresses rumors her husband Terry Dubrow is gay

Heather Dubrow, from The Real Housewives of Orange County, has addressed speculation about her husband, Dr. Terry Dubrow’s, sexuality.

The 56-year-old reality TV personality discussed the silly rumors on Wednesday’s episode of the iHeartRadio podcast, ‘Between Us’.

“It doesn’t make any sense,” she said. “Why would we keep something like that a secret? Living a lie like that would be incredibly hypocritical, and what kind of example would that set for our children?”

Heather, known from the show Botched, married in June 1999 and has four children with her spouse: 22-year-old twins Max and Nick, 19-year-old Kat, and 15-year-old Ace. All of their children identify as LGBTQ+, except for Nick.

The plastic surgeon also addressed the rumors surrounding his sexuality on the podcast.

He playfully said that if he were gay while in this long-term relationship, people should sympathize with him, as he wouldn’t be living authentically and would be unhappy.

He added, ‘First of all, if I were gay, I’d be really happy about it.’

I could have been much richer if I’d married someone who was immediately successful, as men and women often have different spending habits.

Okay, so you HAVE to know, Terry and Heather are HUGE allies for the LGBTQ+ community! It’s seriously amazing, and they aren’t afraid to show it, even on The Real Housewives of Orange County. I mean, it’s often highlighted on the show, which is just fantastic to see – they really use their platform for good!

In 2023, Terry spoke about supporting his transgender child Ace.

Their daughters, Max and Kat, have both publicly shared their sexual orientations. Max identifies as bisexual, and Kat as a lesbian.

Terry explained that he and Heather both took a similar approach when Ace came out as transgender: they focused on listening without judgment or offering unsolicited advice, as he shared with E! News.

He emphasized the importance of creating a home that feels warm, accepting, loving, and supportive.

‘You’ve got to be very careful because there’s a lot of hate out there,’ he added.

‘So you have to be very careful to envelop them in love and support.’

He explained that they hoped their family’s story would offer support to people facing difficulties in unsupportive families, especially in areas where being true to oneself isn’t widely accepted.

Max recently talked about how her well-known mother always works to create a welcoming and accepting home for everyone.

My mom always puts in the effort to figure things out, even when she’s confused,” she shared with People magazine in 2022. “She’s a lifelong learner and grows alongside us.

Kat said her friend is incredibly thoughtful and asks a lot of questions to show she cares, even asking about Kat’s pronouns. Kat feels comfortable talking to her because she doesn’t have to hesitate or feel nervous before sharing anything.

Earlier this month, the couple celebrated nearly three decades together.

They shared a joint social media post, dancing in matching PJs together.

Heather celebrated her 29th wedding anniversary with Dr. Dubrow, sharing on Instagram, ‘Happy Anniversary Honyi! I love you @drdubrow.’ She added, ‘It feels like just yesterday! ❤️’

Terry is a highly skilled plastic surgeon who gained popularity through his appearances on the TV show Botched, and Heather is well-known as a cast member of The Real Housewives of Orange County.

In 2023, Heather shared a loving post to her husband after he suffered a mini stroke.

A quick-thinking friend noticed Terry was slurring his speech during dinner and insisted he see a doctor. It turned out he’d had a TIA, a type of stroke, and she likely saved his life.

A TIA, or transient ischemic attack, happens when blood flow to the brain is briefly blocked. This can cause sudden symptoms like dizziness, confusion, or tingling and numbness, usually in the arms.

Heather shared a photo of the pair and wrote: ‘Appreciation post for my love @drdubrow.

‘Thank god you’re healthy and strong ! I love you Honyi.’
