RHOBH Star Teddi Mellencamp Reveals Shocking Support Divide Amid Brain Cancer Fight

Teddi Mellencamp has disclosed that among her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-stars, some have offered their support during her brain cancer fight while others have not reached out to her at all.

43-year-old media figure, who shared some heartbreaking health news recently, had an interview with USWeekly published on Wednesday. During this Q&A session, she disclosed that Kyle Richards has been a constant support since the beginning, whereas Garcelle Beauvais has yet to contact her at all.

This year, Teddi shared that she’d been experiencing migraines, prompting a visit to a healthcare professional. Subsequently, she was diagnosed with six brain tumors and two lung tumors. These tumors were found to have originated from melanoma that had spread (metastasized) into the affected areas.

To gain access to premiere medical facility Cedars-Sinai hospital, the ex-RHOBH cast member sought help from a former colleague by saying: “We reach out to Kyle [Richards], asking ‘How can we get into Cedars?’ She made some calls and managed to arrange for us to enter. In the end, it was Kyle who came through in our time of need.

It took approximately a day for the remarkable surgeon to excise four brain tumors from me. I hadn’t realized they had been present for anywhere between half a year and a year, and we were completely unaware of their existence.

Teddi shared that while numerous Bravo personalities have backed her during her struggle, there’s one who hasn’t reached out at all, and surprisingly, another set aside their differences to offer support instead.

She stated that Garcelle [Beauvais] hasn’t contacted me yet, but Dorit [Kemsley] has done so. Since I am friends with Erika [Jayne], she inquired, “Is it possible for Dorit to reach out to you now?

Initially, I said, “I’m unsure about how quickly I can forgive, but I’m optimistic.” However, her kind message made me reconsider, and I now believe our situation might improve.

A week ago, Garcelle made known her decision to leave the Bravo reality show, which she joined in 2020, marking the end of her five-season stint.

Further along, Teddi disclosed other Housewives who had shown their support for her, among them being Kyle (who was previously mentioned).

The star remarked: “Kyle has been consistently present. What I appreciate most about Vicki Gunvalson contacting me is she gave a Housewives-themed coloring book, and guess who’s missing from it? [Chuckles]

‘Denise [Richards] reached out, which was also a little bit of a shocker.’

This week, it came to light that Teddi’s fight against brain cancer has unfortunately worsened significantly, leading people close to her to prepare her kids for the most difficult scenario possible.

Previously, the ex-cast member of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, who once expressed feeling near death, has already endured over twenty surgical procedures throughout her struggle against cancer spanning over two and a half years.

Originally, she was found to have melanoma, but now the cancer has progressed and she recently had a surgical procedure to take out four tumors from her brain.

Recently, additional tumors were found in a woman’s brain and lungs. Unfortunately, this discovery for the daughter of musician John Mellencamp means that her children Slate (age 12), Dove (5), and Cruz (10) might soon have to confront the possibility of growing up without their mother.

‘Teddi is a fighter – anyone who has watched Real Housewives can attest to that,’ Radar reported.

However, the thought that she’s conquered this challenge, only to face another devastating prognosis, drains her will to fight.

She previously informed her kids that she wasn’t well but would recover, yet revealing the full extent of her illness to them now is causing her immense distress.

Teddi strives tirelessly to maintain a positive outlook amidst her struggles, yet her primary concern lies with her loved ones, and overcoming cancer for their wellbeing.

According to the outlet’s report, Dr. Jerome Spunberg stated that Teddi may encounter a challenging future involving painful treatments and, sadly, an unfortunate outcome.

Dr. Spunberg hasn’t cured Teddi’s melanoma; instead, he pointed out that melanoma is infamous for its rapid spread. Often, additional tumors develop even while doctors are treating the initial ones.

In my professional opinion, it seems she may be going through an incredibly challenging and agonizing health journey. Regrettably, the success rate for recovery in this case is quite low.

On a Saturday night, I couldn’t help but take to Instagram to confess my current battle – a bothersome eye pain caused by swelling.

First, the mom-of-three posted a photo of daughter Dove playing with her ‘bestie’ on a trampoline.

After taking this photo, nurse Kel and @lital_aschkenasy quickly treated me with ice, preparing me for a period of lying quietly and in darkness, as my eye pain typically returns at the same time each day.

In this Instagram Story, she shared a brief video where she could be seen relaxing with a big, blue ice pack positioned on her forehead.

She expressed that she feels tired or bored of the situation at hand, mentioning that every afternoon, without fail, is just the same for her. Afterward, she let out a heavy sigh and admitted that she no longer has interest in watching her favorite shows.

Mellencamp went on to write, ‘Surgery swelling, please go away. I would owe you one.’

In February, she announced that medical professionals had found several brain tumors, necessitating an immediate operation.

For a span of six months, the tumors that had been expanding grew to be noticeable, eventually prompting the individual to visit a healthcare professional.

In an episode of their Two Ts in a Podcast with Tamra Judge earlier this month, Teddi mentioned that despite enduring migraines, she chose to persevere and press on amidst other challenges life presented to her.

She shared that during that period, she chose not to deal with whatever was happening and instead decided to push ahead, believing that as long as she kept advancing, things would eventually work out for the best.

Previously on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the star shared insights into her challenging recuperation process following her brain surgery on February 12th, which she was released from the hospital after.

Teddi shared with her audience that she was compelled to ingest ‘unpalatable sodium tablets’ as a condition for being released from the hospital, because she couldn’t urinate. “I just couldn’t go to the bathroom, guys,” Teddi explained.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’ve been openly sharing my journey towards healing, and just recently, I took to my social platforms to share an update on how things have been going for me.

Sharing an update from my recent scans, I’ve discovered several brain tumors that were inoperable during surgery. Additionally, I have tumors in my lungs as well – these are all extensions of my melanoma.

‘The doctors are hopeful that immunotherapy will effectively treat them.’

With a hint of mirth, she commented, “I’m optimistic – confident I’ll conquer this challenge, proud of my new shorter ‘do (though I prefer it without the bald patches), and certain I can recall each of Angelina’s children’s names.

She announced her split from her husband of 13 years, Edwin Arroyave, in November.
